There are other options!!

I posted to this board a couple times before, because I had received word from my Doctor in January that I needed a hysterectomy......WHAT?? Isn't that a bit severe I thought. I, like many others was immediately struck with fear. My sex drive will diminish, I'll get migrane headaches, my vagina will be shortened....my other organs will prolapse, I'll grow a mustache, my hormones will never be right - the thoughts kept coming and coming and the fear list just kept growing and growing.

But I would like to say "Thank you" to the ladies at this board who responded to my questions, and fears and let me know that there were other options out there - I just needed to become "Informed" about what they were.....which I have been doing, as well as speaking to several other doctor's who specialize in "alternative" treatments to hysterectomy. And.....On April 30th I am scheduled to under-go a uterine suspension, and full pelvic floor reconstruction with the best news being....I Keep My Uterus!

There are alternatives, several as a matter of fact, for not just my diagnosis, but others as well......

Keep me in your prayers, and I'll let you know how everything works out on the 30th! I feel hopeful for the first time in 4 months about the outcome! It was worth the wait to schedule surgery, until I became educated about what I was entering into.....Stay tuned....
