anyone had trouble with their vaginal cuff healing

My surgery was January 28 - a TAH/BSO and I am having trouble with my vaginal cuff healing. My Dr has cauterized me and I have been going back to her quite often (I also had a bacterial infection). This has not helped the matter. I have vaginal burning along with a discharge. Has anyone else had this problem? And if so, how long did it take to clear up? I go back to the Drs again this Tuesday. I love my Dr but this is getting real old with me. Thanks again for all of your help. Cathy

(((((Cathy)))))

I'm so sorry to hear about your minor complications! I know you must be very frustrated and very ready to have all this healing business over and done with!

You're not alone, though ~ I have read about lots of gals who did have recurring infections and having to return for treatment for granulation. I'm sorry you're going through this, and I sure do hope that it is gradually improving so you get better every day.

Lots of healing s,

anyone had trouble with their vaginal cuff healing

My surgery was Jan 31st, and I had a vaginal cuff infection at 4 weeks post-op, was back in hospital for 2 days on IV antibiotics, then home on oral anitibiotics, then on metrogel for about a week, then on amino cerv cream for about a week. Saw Dr. today and the infection is finally gone, but still having pain and discomfort. He says it may be scar tissue or adhesions from the infection or surgery. Hope you don't end up with that. I am wondering how much worse the pain will get. I can live with it now, but hoping it doesn't get worse as I don't want another surgery. Good Luck!
