TAH How much bleeding is normal after hysterectomy?

Hi, I had a TAH on 15th July. I've been trying to be good about resting but I have been bending a lot I am a bit too independent I think and hate to ask for help. But I have a tightness near my belly button, as tabby pain near the right hand side of my staples and I'm bleeding quite a bit (about two pads worth today) I'm not sure if this is normal and I'm a worrier! It's a dark brown colour like old blood but just lately it's starting to get brighter. I have a cough at the moment which is definitely not helping anything! I guess I just need a bit of reassurance really...I'm off to the nurse tomorrow to get my staples taken out.

Being independent is good except when we actually do need help and won't ask! I'm right there with ya sister. I try to do more of a squat and use my legs but still lots of bending. I was told if you soak a pad to call doctor. Hope your cough get better that probably smarts! Lay down and rest for sure! Praying it stops quickly and all is well.

I am 3 weeks post-op and only had light spotting the day of surgery. I thought I would have bleeding but surprising I haven't.
