I'm new, scared and confused
[color=deeppink]:confuse:  :cry:
I had my surgery 19 months ago. At the time I found out I had to have it , my life was in shambles. I had just come out of the hospital, where I was going through a breakdown, do to just finding out that my husband of 20+ years cheated on me and when i found out about it he left me. To make a long story short I was in a fog prior to, during and after my surgery. I am just realizing the trauma I went through both physicall and mentally. 1 month after my surgery I left Florida to move closer to family. I have not seen a doc, nor can I (I have no insurance) since. I am taking 2mg of estriodol. Lately I have been felling pretty rotten. I have drastic mood swings, 80lb+ weight gain, depression, swelling in my hands feet and legs, I feel angry all the time, my bladder is shot and I suffer severe pains in my joints and legs. I found you while looking for some answers under hysterectomy. I am just figuing out how to use this site. If anyyone has any input for me please let me know.

I'm new, scared and confused
Dear Jojos,
I'm sorry to hear about all of the problems you've been dealing with. It sounds like you've been through a lot, and my heart goes out to you. The time around a hysterectomy is very emotional for many women. Losing your husband, on top of everything else, is heartbreaking. Please accept my sincere sympathy.
It sounds like you're still having some very uncomfortable symptoms. I understand that you don't have health insurance, but I hope you'll find some way to see a doctor. Some of the problems you describe could be related to hormones, and might be alleviated by adjusting the hormones you're taking, or by adding other medications. I'm not a doctor, but it seems to me that a doctor might be able to help you. Please give this some serious thought.
We care very much about.you, and hope you'll be feeling better soon. I hope a doctor can help you with the physical and emotional discomfort you're experiencing. Please let us kow how you're doing.
Sending healing hugs,
Helen

I'm new, scared and confused
You've got so much worry. I'm on Celexa for depression for about a year now. My prescription runs out the same time as my medical coverage and I'm really scared I'll go back to feeling that way again, so I understand what it's like.
Look at things as a new beginning for you. I also ended a 26 year marriage recently and left him all but my personal belongings and am starting over again too. With you on that one also.
See if you qualify for any medical assistance or some kind of help for the depression. Counseling or medication will help and you'll be able to bear it until you can get help for the rest.

Jojo- 's
I'm so sorry you are dealing with so much. Try & look into any assistance that you might be eligible for- its worth a try.
I understand about the husband thing- am going thru some major stuff with mine right now & am having to make some major decisions about it.
As far as the physical problems- you could try going over to the hormone jungle & also to the road less traveled (you'll find me there a lot).
The ladies here are lifesavers- true 's - each & every one of them. I pray that you find strength & peace.
Susan

You will make it through this!!!!!!!!!
I'm ssssooooooooo sorry you are going through this hon. Although I can't totally relate, I can in a way. When my son was going through his last month of chemo. at age 3 and my daughter was less than 1, my now ex told me he didn't love me anymore, and though he will denigh it till his dying day, did have interests elsewhere. (As I also saw it for my own eyes...long story). So , though it wasn't during my hyst, it certainly was not a good time. There was counseling as I tried like H@@ to make it work even though it was a lost cause .....but guess what? Counseling for myself helped me out of this mess, and eventually, I did heal, and with God's help moved on with my life and actually met a man who is so wonderful, I can't believe it. You sound like a sweet , caring human being who got the raw end of the deal. I lost friends right and left as he "gave his version of what really happened", but in the end, it does not matter, And you too will find this. I used to hear this form other people who had gone through this and think "yeah, right!". But it's true....hang in there we are here for you....don't ever give up! Tickles
