Adenomyosis

Soozn, that's the first time I have ever heard of doing that! Wow. You must have been in awful pain for them to do that.

Adenomyosis

Hi Chinney and Welcome!! I was diagnosed with adeno last June after years and years of trying to get the doctors to believe me about the horrible pains and clotting...I was told for too long that it was normal...one doc even tried to tell me that my painful intercourse was due to me not knowing how to stimulate myself!! So many times I've wanted to write that doc a nasty note! I finally found a great OB/GYN that did a lap and found my uterus to be very enlarged, retroverted, and boggy! I tried b/c pills with no success and 6 months of Lupron...the Lupron did totally relieve my pain and bleeding, but 2 months after the last shot, all the symptoms came back full force and I was left with the decision of a hyst! By this time I was already decided and had my LAVH/BSO last Tuesday! From what I have read and been told by my doc, adeno will just keep getting worse, there is not really a cure for it, just meds, like Lupron, to temporarily get rid of the bleeding and pain...I am very happy with my decision, but you need to be SURE this is what is best for you! I have all the children I wanted (2 step daughters and one 8 year old son), I am only 31 and was a little concerned about HRT but have been doing good this week on Estrace! Keep reading and posting here, it is such a supportive and informative site!
