Pre-Op visit

Today I go for my pre-op visit. I am scheduled for a TVH on 4/24/02. I have rapidly growing fibroids but a biopsy showed them to be benign. My GYN has warned me that if they are too large she may have to do the TAH. I hope not! Thanks to everyone here I have more questions to ask today. I am starting to get nervous but fortunately I have been so busy at work preparing for my absence that I don't have a lot of free time to think about it. I have a long list of things to do this weekend at home to prepare. My DH will be taking two weeks family medical leave to help out at home. I have been amazed at the number of women I know that have also had hysterectomies. Once they heard about my upcoming surgery they were very reassuring and all have said they feel so much better. I had my hair done yesterday and my stylist said sex is even better than before! I work primarily with men and was embarassed at first to tell them why I was going to be gone so long but the guys have been great! They are pitching in and taking care of my duties while I am gone and have been telling me to just take care of myself. We will stay in touch by :email: and phone. Afterall, my mind won't have slowed down! And since I tend to be a workaholic I have lined up little projects at home to keep me occupied. I have a lot of old family photos that need to be sorted - maybe I will actually get caught up with them. Thanks for listening - just sharing is therapeutic.

Pre-Op visit

If you're anything like I was, for the first two weeks my brain seemed to have gone on vacation. It's a common occurance also known as brain fog
