Am I Having Mood Swings?

Before my hyster I never, ever had mood swings.

But now 4 days later, I'm finding episodes of anxiousness and panic, then sudden calm. I find stepping outside into the cool air helps eliviate the panic I'm feeling. Doc prescribed Buspar (buspirone). I have always had night sweats which really don't concern me as much as these emotional swings.

Other wise I'm in zero pain and happy as a lark, when suddenly a dark mood takes me over.

Anyone else experience this?

I think that the first few weeks after any major surgery can be emotional for anyone. The fact that this was a hysterectomy makes it hard to determine whether your emotion swings are your reaction to chemical/hormonal changes or the mere surgery itself.

Give yourself some time; there is so much healing going on and your body trying to adjust after trauma.

Try to relax and enjoy a nice, smooth recovery; focus on taking extra special care of the pampered princess right now.
