swimming?

Ok, so how soon can I expect to be able to swim? Well, not swim so much as float. Re-cooping will be so much less boring for me if I can 'chill' out in the pool. I know everyone's different, and I'll ask my doc when I get the chance. Just wondering what you personal experience with it was..

swimming?

Hi, Sherry,

My doctor told me to wait two weeks for a bath in my own tub, and six weeks for swimming or getting in a hot tub. He explained that swimming pools and hot tubs usually contain many bacteria, and therefore the chance of getting an infection is higher in a pool or hot tub.

Different doctors seem to have very different ideas on this subject, so it's important to follow your own doctor's instructions.

Best wishes,
Helen

swimming?

Hi Sherry,

Like Helen, I was told to wait six weeks before swimming. From what I have read here, that is what most doctors say. I plan to wait until I've had my six week check-up and have been cleared to swim, just in case the doctor finds any reason for me to wait any longer. Better to be on the safe side, in my opinion!

Best wishes to you!

swimming?

Is that for swimming in a public pool or does it matter?
