Ready, set, go!!

Hi everyone, I think I'm all set to go to the Castle. Thanks for the great lists of what to take. How long will it be before I can use my stairs? I'm going to set my computer up at the kitchen table since it is upstairs also. Thanks again, and I will let you all know how it goes for me.

Hi Roni

Sweetie I would guess about couple weeks I don't know when I started but I only had my laundry room down stairs. so the guys did the laundry will I was recovering. Ask your DR when you get ready to leave the castle and just go by what they say. I don't think it would help for inside healing to start stairs too soon. Good Luck and God Bless.

Ready, set, go!!

Roni!

I was going up and down the stairs the second week, as our downstairs bathroom had some major problems with the plumbing. I wasn't in pain from anything but a full bladder!

Ask your doctor when though, everyone is different! Mine told me when I was ready, it was fine. It all depends on the incision and the person!

See you on the post-op board when you are rested and recovering...take your time getting there, we'll be waiting for you!

Good thoughts and prayers for you!

Stairs!

My doc told me I would be able to do stairs the day I got home! I'm having a TAH and stairs was one of my first questions, since we have a two story house and my office is up one flight of stairs.

Is this unrealistic???

He did say the first couple of weeks I would probably limit it to trips a day, once down in the a.m., and up in the p.m. for the night.

I'll clarify for sure at the pre-op, but my dh and I both specifically remember him saying I could take short walks and use the stairs from day one.
