Welcome to Hyster Sisters, Shelley

I'm so sorry you're feeling so bad This surgery is a major surgery and initial recovery is between 6 to 8 weeks.

Hopefully, you should start feeling better pretty soon though, in my experience, recovery can be a roller coaster experience.

Just remember to rest, rest, rest. Do walk for recovery. And drink plenty of water.

Sending healing s your way.

s Shelley! The road is very long when you're sitting where you are right now isn't it? I felt pretty crappy at two weeks too. You're probably sick of hearing "we're all different", but it's true. Some ladies say they have definite watershed moments at 4, 6 8 and 12 weeks. I'm at week number 14 today and I must say that today was a good day. If it makes you feel any better, I didn't get out of my jammies until 14 days post surgery. I hope you feel better soon!

That's interesting - I have been doing great, but all of a sudden at 10 days post op I felt awful and all I wanted to do was sleep.
Heavy duty healing I suppose! I guess we just have to listen to our body. I'm at 13 days post op - Other than a couple of short trips into work - I'm living in jammy land and loving it!!

You know what I have enjoyed? I went to the library and checked out audio books. Sometimes my eyes won't focus because of pain meds or just being tired, and audio books are so relaxing. Only problem is that I nod off and miss whole chapters - darn!

I'm 4 1/2 weeks and it's only been in the last week and a half that I've started feeling better. I had a lot of pain the first 3 weeks, but I feel ssssssssooooooooooo much better now! The only problem I have now is fatigue. I can stand about 3 hours of activity, then I start hurting and getting tired and I have to rest. Still, it's much, much better and I know it will only get better from here. Hang in there. It's amazing what a difference a week can make. Get lots of rest and soon you'll be feeling much better.

i too had LAVH 4/10. last week seemed to be better than this week. the pain that has returned on my lower right(where i had adhesions, that were "supposedly removed) has come back head on. i was in tears on the way home from hairdressers today. yes doc said i could drive a bit if i wasn't on painmeds. serveral women that work with my DH have told him that the second and third weeks were worse than the first. you are not alone. just try to remember that every day should be better than the last and to allow your body time to heal and even if your brain says you feel good, your body will tell you when it is time to becoem more active.

rest up while you can.

I also had my surgery on the 10th and I have to say I sleep a whole lot. If I am up to long I can get soo tired. The pain is not real bad but my body is super sensitive to what I eat. Get real crammpy when I have to use the restroom. Good luck on feeling better. And don't worry about how tired you are, your body is healing.
