Welcome!
Hi, Braswell! Welcome to HysterSisters--best site on the Web! Sorry to hear you have to go back for more surgery. If you do have to have both ovaries removed and are able to take HRT right away, you probably wouldn't have the symptoms of surgical menopause. I never had any hot flashes or night sweats, since I started Premarin 2 days after my TAH BSO, and then switched to Estrace after 6 weeks. The HRT can be tricky, though, finding just the right type and dose that makes you feel good. If you are at risk for blood clots or have other contraindications (I don't know what your side effects were when you were on BCP), the dr may be able to give you a very low dose estrogen. Have you discussed hormones with your dr? You can check out the "Hormone Jungle" and the "No Hormone Desert Oasis" to find out more information on this subject. s and best wishes to you!
