Kathy,

Do you cycle your hormone (i.e., 5 days off progesterone)?
Thanks.

Kathy,

Eileen,
Are you thinking of cycling your progesterone? Have you seen this thread about the experiment some of us did a few years ago?

Kathy,

No way!! I was just wondering if Kathy cycles because the doctor who is our jungle guide wants me to eventually cycle. I already told him that I have had enough of PMS and don't plan to stop progesterone for 5 days out of the month. I was just curious.

Kathy,

Eileen,
Did he offer an explanation for the cycling? You got me curious now, not that I would do it considering my previous experience.

P.S. I've put out an APB for Kathy and flagged this post for her.

Kathy,

Hi Eileen!

Yes, I tried cycling progesterone but it didn't seem to work for me...but that was quite a while ago. Yeppers, Dr. Schoen suggested I try cycling again...especially since I tend to be plagued still with headaches (sinus related though...but maybe intensified by hrt?) RIght now I'm encouraged since I am trying the fast dissolve tablets of my compounds from College Pharmacy and I'm liking them alot.

I may try cycling them sometime... since Dr. Schoen believes that the cell receptors need the break from progesterone....(I think that's what he said. :brainfog: )

Kathy,

Yes, the cell receptors need a break. I'm wondering how much of this is based on anecdote and how much is supported by research. In any case, I'm feeling a little better than previous months, so I'm not stopping a thing!!

Kathy,

I can't update my profile below because doc has changed the doses and percentages and I have absolutely no [expletive deleted ] idea of how much I'm taking now.

Thanks for your response, Kathy.

Kathy,

Kim, I read the thread you posted. So did you decide not to cycle? I have been wondering about this subject for the past couple of months but thought Iwas the only one...LOL..should have known better.
Maybe that is why I am having such a hard time right now? I've been taking the Estratest HS & compounded progesterone capsule (50 mg) almost non-stop since Dec.
Maybe 50 mg is not enough? After reading that thread I am wondering.
