Uterus Fibroid Tumors

I had my hyst for a very large fibroid. I don't know how large it was in diameter, but it was the size of a 20 week pregnancy. My doctor said it was the largest fibroid he removed vaginally.

Uterus Fibroid Tumors

Hi, I had a two large tumors, one over 8 lbs. and the other over 4 lbs. However they grew very fast and I didn't have any symptoms except fatigue and a beer belly.

Uterus Fibroid Tumors

I only had one fibroid (ha ha, 'only' is a funny word to use in this case), but it was the size of a 20-week pregnancy. I also had extensive adenomyosis. I don't know how much the fibroid weighed, but my uterus weighed in at about ten pounds total according to the path report. Yikes!

I came home weighing eight pounds less than I did right before surgery. And, I finally have a midriff again!

Good luck with your surgery.

growth outside my uterus

My doctor said he had never seen anything like mine, so I'm curious of other's details. Mine had a stem half the size of my uterus and looked like a great huge kidney bean. I got to see pictures of it still in me, with it being held up and still attatched . Yikes!! Mine was found on an annual exam at first-mistaken for my uterus being 2X it's size, and I looked and felt 6-7 months pregnant-peeing every hour on the hour at least. (Up out of bed now to pee and terrible gas!-but this too shall PASS! usually hits me at 1 to 2 am-must be part of my digestion process time?)

Uterus Fibroid Tumors

I went to my six weeks checkup yesterday and went over the path report again, this time with one of the great residents who was part of my surgical team. She translated the weight of my uterus, and it weighed two pounds - not ten. It was the size of a five-month pregnancy though.

I guess the nurse said 'two' and it sounded like 'ten'. Oh great I guess my hearing is going now, on top of everything else.

Wonder where the eight-pound weight loss came from? Fluid? I ate everything they gave me, so it wasn't lack of appetite. Oh well.

Yep, large fibroids...

I had one that was 5 pounds, another that was 3 pounds. What was interesting is that the doctor told me that when the sonogram was done, what they thought was an enlarged uterus was actually the big fibroid. She told me that rather than having a fibroid hanging off of my uterus, I had a uterus hanging off the fibroid! She told me ahead of surgery that fibroids always seem to have a surprise...because a sonogram doesn't accurately show what's going on inside...

Uterus Fibroid Tumors

Mine was the size of a basketball. I was looking forward to not looking pregnant again but, no such luck. Due to swelling my tummy is bigger than before and I can't fit into my clothes. Go figure!
