Now 1 week post op
Hi there...I had my surgery on the 26th and I am about to go nuts....Everyone and thing has been wonderful of helping me but I am so use to getting things done and reading and doing crosswords and stuff is getting old.....My watching tv is old too...I get up and walk around the house and there isnt much room to walka nd it has been raining here so I havent been able to go out much..I went out on Wednesday because of my first post op appointment and he said next wednesday he will take half of the staples out.....He said I can go out and walk outside just remember I need to come back....The drainage problem he said was normal not an infection he said I look great and am doing wonderful.....
I am just getting tired of doing nothing....Saterday will be a big test for me...My hubby has to be gone all day and night....He has something with work and the relay for life and the kids will come back from their grandparents house about 7 that night......I am thankful for the ladies in my church they have been bringing meals in so my husband doesnt have to cook..He knows how and is a great cook just he is busy with job and they wanted to do this......The doctor says I can drive in one more week but how do you do that when you are still sore and he doesnt want you to bend....I would have to move the seat up because my husband is about 9 - 10 inches taller than me.......I know this is long but I am going nuts and I need to vent :explode:
Thanks Jodie

Here's a hug
Jodie,
Thanks for posting. I'm glad you feel well enough to complain about being bored. That is one of my biggest fears. I have NEVER sat around for weeks at a time! I'm an avid reader, but not much into TV or crossword puzzles.
I'm glad you have such support from your church family. Hopefully your Saturday will go well and you kids will be so glad that you are home, they will be perfect angels.
You know, as you feel better, you can always vent here. That's what sisters are for.
Take care, rest, drink, walk and check in with us now and then.
Nancy

I understand. I am already bored!!!
You cant drive, and you dont really feel like doing anything, still sore.
Heres what I am trying to tell myself........ HELLO, it could be worse, you could be dealing with being a liw. OR some compliction....... yikes. I'll take boredom.. lol
I did make files up before surgery to cut things out of all the magizines I have saved........ decorating magizines, things I want to do "someday".
I also got graph paper to draw out plans for backyard redo.
Think it is time to start on these projects.
Maybe you have some things like that to catch up on........ oh yes I have to do my taxes...... no, I am to tired for that still...lol
take care

Hi
I have the same fear that I will be bored out of my mind. I not only am used to doing mostly everything myself, I prefer it that way. I also do everything fast. I walk fast, I clean fast, I really do everything fast. I am determined though that after my surgery, no matter how boring, I am going to rest totally so I can get well as fast as I can. There has to be something you can do on rainy days. Have you ever played games on the computer? I never in a million years thought I would like that but I logged on to Pogo. com and I play all kind of different games (word games and crossword games) freel. Try it if you are really bored. It might work. Good luck and take care. The worst is over for you plus you have people who care taking care of you. Mine is still to come. I hope I'm as lucky as you.
