my urodynamic test

this is what transpired in my urodynamic test---sat in a pee chair with a funnel to a bowel on a scale--had to empty my bladder. then, was cathed to see how much was still in my bladder. the nurse also placed a probe in my rectum. the next step my bladder was filled--slowly-- i was to tell the nurse when i could feel cold, hot, fullness or what ever. once the bladder was full i was asked to cough, again and again- all the time i was hooked up to this machine--every thing was monitored--the results are there for the doctor to read when i go back at the end of the month- the nurse did read to me that the doctor had decided to do the MARSHALL-MARCHETTI-KRANTZ procedure ( also known as MMK). this is supposed to be the most time tested and reliable of all bladder repairs and it can be done because i am having TAH/BSO. P.S. this procedure is for older women-menopausal!! the one simular to this procedure for younger women is the BURCH procedure--this is what i have been reading and researching. i hope this helps anyone concerned about the urodynamic test!!!!! janice72
