2 week slump

Hi! I'm 9 days post-op right now and have heard that around the 2 week mark, your internal stitches fall out, which could be why you're feeling so bad. Both my doctor and some books I've read say just to take it easy for a few days, then you'll be back on track. Hasn't happened to me yet, but am hording my Percocet just for that occasion, ha, ha.

still in pain

Hi Amy,
Had surgery the same day as you. I noticed a lot of pain at the two week mark like you described. Nothing helped. I also had frequent urination. I finally realized that it could be a bladder infection from the surgery and being catherized twice.
Called the nurse, she called in some antibiotics and I felt much better. Maybe you should get a urinalysis, just to make sure you don't have an infection. Hope this helps and you feel better soon. If you need to email me, my address is durhambull61@yahoo.com.

2 week slump

I was using painkillers (percocet) through my first 3 weeks post-op -- not all the time, but nearly every morning and sometimes at night. It's true that narcotic pain meds make constipation worse, so you might be wise to avoid them.

You might find that if you take it really, really easy, you won't have as much pain. Good luck.

Melissa
