Hyst scheduled on June 10

Help! This sit has been wonderful but I can't find anyone with the problems I have and was wondering if I was alone. I'm 31 and about to have a total hyst..ovaries too. My problems have been polycystic ovarian disease and all the lovely side effects of it( hair growth where it shouldn't be, acne, sad metabolism and ovaries that feel like boulders..not to mention insuliun resistance problems bordering on type II diabetes) Aside from that, I only have 2/3 of a uterus and 1 working fallopian tube and recent abnormal (not cancer yet) pap tests. (for over a year) I lost a baby at 5 1/2 months because of the size of my uterus yet my GYN at the time still tried to get me pregnant again until I wised up and went elsewhere. My new doc is great and will give me a hyst, though I'm sad that I won't get to have a child...but, sex without pain might be good, right?? My last gyn said that I should drink a glass a wine before getting romantic..that should help!! (And, it's a woman!!) Anyway, I need support, I feel alone and I'm scared of the procedure....one more thing, sorry this is long. Ever since my symptoms of pelvic pain etc at 19yrs, I've battled depression and emotional swings that are terrible. My poor DH..how he's suffered. Anyone have a change in their mood swings after surg? Please help!! Good luck to everyone!

Hi clusswoman

Welcome to Hysersisters

I am sorry you have gone through so much and very sorry about the loss of your unborn child. That is a painful thing to deal with. There are many women on the Aching Hearts forum that can offer you support in that experience.

Although no one wants to face surgery, for many of us we have felt better than ever once we make it through to the other side. I know for me I have felt better physically and emotionally now that I am well on my way to recovery.

Please use the purple search button on the upper right hand corner of this page. You can type in words like PCOS or diabetes and get hits from previous threads where women have dealt with these issues along with their hysterectomies.

Please also read the pull down menu's on the Home Page. There is lot's of valuable information to help you through pre and post op in a very prepared way.

And keep reading all the posts and let us know how else we can help you. You are not alone. We are here for you and we always have the on.

HUGS

Awwwwwww Hun you sure have had alot on your plate. My symptoms for having my hyst were different from yours, but I can imagine how hard it is for you. I am sure someone will be along real soon who knows about or has had the same symptoms. I just wanted to give you a HUG and let you know that you are in my thoughts.
Have you read the pull down menues or done a search on the site.
Mate I can tell you that after the hyst and when recovery is done, you WILL feel soooooo much better. I am now 8 months and I can tell you that life is good now. I am feeling great and it is so nice not to have periods backache and pain, to be able to pee every now and then not every 5 minutes it is great. Sex is much better to. Good luck for your surgery hun, remember we are all here for you. Hugs Vicki
