gallbladder troubles post op

I have a question and was wondering if this has happened to anybody else out there. On Feb. 12 i had a laparoscopy to try and remove some adhesions and to see if my DR felt a hysterectomy was needed. Well he removed some adhesions, and all was well until a week later when i had a horrible gallbladder attack and ended up in the ER. The decision was made to just watch my diet and hopefully it wouldn't happen again....well....guess where i was again yesterday?? I had a TAH/USO on April 29th and for the first week was unable to have a bowel movement so they had me do a fleet enema. That wasn't fun, but brought relief! Since then, every single time i eat i get diarrhea!! Then two nights ago i ended up having another terrible gallbladder attack! Do you think this could be related to the anesthesia? Seems to me to be a correlation.....but i'm no DR!! Well, i was just wondering if this had happened to anyone else....thanks for your help!!

Hi Michelle,

I'm so sorry that you're having these problems with your gallbladder. I know that it can be very painful.

I don't have an answer to your question, but I have seen other postings talking about gallbladders. You might try doing a search using the Search button on the top, right of the page.

Just curious, have you discussed this with your Drs? Seems that they could best answer if there is a correlation between your surgeries/anesthesia and gallbladder problems.

Best wishes, healing thoughts and s!

Those attacks can be so painful. I suffered for 7 years before finding out in was my gallbladder, I can sympathize. I don't know all your circumstances, but I know I still have trouble eating fatty food. I won't mention the certain Chinese food at the mall, but if I need to move things along I just get take out!!! At one point I had no fat in my diet to "eliminate" that problem. I say this is one for the Dr.
Hope you feel better.
