Yellow Discharge

Hi Ladies,
Sorry to be so graphic here, but i am worried a little. I am 4 weeks post op and developed a very yellow discharge a couple of days ago. I have always been quite moist down there pre and post op, and I am on Premarin .625 since my TAH on 4/22. I have no discomfort from the discharge, it is not itchy and has no odor, but I am worried. My dh and I have not resumed sex yet, "all the way" (sorry, told you it was a bit graphic), but we have played around a little externally, so I am a little worried that I have an infection. Or is this just normal discharge 4 weeks post op?
Any input would be tremendously appreciated. I have a dr's appt on 5/31 for a 6 week post op check up, and do not know if I need to call dr. sooner?!
Thanks!

I think it makes sense to call the dr. about any new concern you may have. He/she will not be surprised by anything you might say and you may come away with some peace of mind or a remedy.

Be sure to tell the dr. about your "activities" with DH so he/she has all the information needed to assess the situation.

Yellow Discharge

Hi Sharon!

It would be a good idea to check with your . I had a yellowish discharge for the first couple of weeks. My Uro. said it was from stitches dissolving.

I have to agree with the others here. Give the doctor a call and see what they say. I too have always had a lot of moisture, but I didn't have any yellowish discharge of any type. Let us know what you find out. Take care!

Yellow Discharge

Prudent to call the Doc...I had a yellowish non-irritating discharge, and it turned out to be a little bit of granulation that the doctor took care of with silver nitrate swab. Take care,

I called the DOC re:Discharge

First of all, thank you to ALL of you that responded to my worries. I did call the doctor, and surprisingly enough, was able to talk to the "Almighty-herself" (MY doc is a female). Usually I have to leave a message, and she calls me back in the evening. Anyhow, she said not to worry, that it is a very normal discharge-part of the whole healing thing and as long as I feel good, just wear a panty liner, and most of all DO NOT PUT ANYTHING UP THERE-if you know what I mean- Her words, not mine- I told her I understood and that next week when I had my appointment with her for my check up, I would be easy to spot, I would be the one in her waiting room hanging from the chandlier in frustration!

Anyway-thank-you all again. I honestly do not know what I would do without this website- and send sweet s to all of you for your support.
I will keep you all posted!

I went for my 3 wk post op with the same problem. I had a TVH 4/9/02. My doc said it was an infection from the surgery. He said it was very common and put me on some vaginal sulfer cream to use. I used it for a week and it worked. Give your doc a call.
