Post op helpers not understanding

My dear mother is a bear. I was up one day feeling good and since then she thinks i can do anything. She gets mad if I sleep and cusses at me. She just doesn't understand that we have good and bad times moment to moment. She is the hard type. The only reason i am here is so i can get the help i need from parents with my ds and dd. I'm not married soooooo. I'm stuck.
I want to post stuff about recovery all over the house so she will get the hint. Any one here that can help i would greatly appreciate it. I can't find anything to post or maybe i'm not looking in the right places. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Dana,

I'm sorry your Mom isn't understanding about your situation. Here is one link that may help give her some perspective:

You may also want to go the HS HomePage where there is a lot of information available. To get there, use the drop-down menu at the top, right side of the page, choose HysterSisters Home and click "Go".

Best wishes and s

Hi Dana!

I'm so sorry about your non-understanding post op "helpers".

Here is a link to the FAQ for family members, and although many sections refer to husband/wife, it really does apply to whomever is looking after you/ "helping" you.

I hope it helps! I certainly can understand your frustration, and I hope that you can look beyond that and put you and your healing and recovery first, no matter what.

Love and (((((HUGS)))))

Hi,
I'm very sorry to hear that your mother doesn't understand. I had two major surgerys before this one and they were not easy. I to have my good days and bad days. I never understood them before now. When I felt good the first time I over did it. I'm very active, strong and extremely independent. However, I have taken the advice of the ladies here and am taking it easy although I feel good and think I can do more. Please feel free to e-mail me. Don't cry alone. I can cry with you
