post op headaches

I have had a headache all week. Nothing really bad, just there. Is this normal after surgery? Anyone else have the same problems?

Post op Headaches

Lets see................Hormone fluctuation,
anesthesia, pain meds, hospital beds,
pain itself, stress.............................

anyone got more to add to the headache list?

Yep, headaches do happen post op.
Can be any one of 20 different real factors or
all of the above.

If your headaches get bad, start keeping a
headache journal and talk to your doctor.
It could be a sign of a medical issue that needs
attending.

Drink lots and lots of water.

Wishing you a good headache free day

post op headaches

I had a horrible headache for a week and a half. I finally told doctor about he. He assessed it and determined it was a stress headache. He actually gave me a massage in his office that helped alot. He also gave me samples of zomig for migraines, because the description of the headache changed from day to day. He said it sounded like I had a migraine that went away and lead into the stress headache. He said warm showers massages from hubby and rest. If the worse came back to take the zomig. I feel much better now. I still get a minor headache sometimes in the evening but ibuprophen is taking care of it.

Good luck and talk to your doctor. Most know alot about these things.

Hi Karen!

I'm so sorry you're having these headaches!

It's hard enough on a new Princess to behave and take care of herself during this recovery period, without the added headache symptoms!

Try to relax, sweetie, drink lots of water, get plenty of rest (lack of sleep is a big contributor of headaches!) and take it easy. Call the DR if it continues to persist.

Hope you get rid of those headaches soon!
