Any Ladies going to the Castle June 20th??

My Castle date date is the 20th of June! A week away!! That's 7 Days from today!! ( I'm on the west coast and it's still Thursday here!)
My Pre Op is done as is my Pre Surgery appointment at the hospital. So Now all I have to do is wait! And hope I don't get sick. Then Wednesday Afternoon, I head over to the town that the hospital is in. I get to do all that fun stuff to enema and Bedadine douche! Yippeee --I'm being sarcastic!! Honest!
6am Thursday Morning I go in the be admitted at the Castle!!
I'm a little bit nervous but I know it will be all over soon.

But now I find myself running around like a trying to get everything done before I go. Am I the only one doing this. I know that my DH and kids can take care of the things here at home but I have this gnawing feeling that something is not going to go right here. I guess it's the mommy in me but between work and home I'm running myself down and I know that I can't be doing that!!
Enough whining for now! I'm gonna go polish my Princess crown!!

Yes I am!

My date is June 20th too! I've been surprisingly calm for the last week, but now I'm starting to feel like a freak-out is pending. I too am trying to clean up all my stuff at work today and Monday.
And everything at home will be looked at this weekend. I'm getting a jump in my stomach every time I think about next Thursday.....
The hospital called and I have to do a phone interview with a nurse on Wednesday morning. They will do all pre-op bloodwork at the hospital before the surgery, which sounded weird to me. No mention of laxatives or enema or anything.
My next big job is to tell my girls ages 6 & 3. That will be hard.

Any Ladies going to the Castle June 20th??

Strange as it may seem, i was totally relaxed and calm right up until the day. I went to the castle early because I got tired of waiting. My surgery was 1pm and I had to be at the castle at 11:30am. I finally told DH let's just go. I can't stand the waiting. It was only 30 minutes early, but I couldn't keep wandering around the house. I wasn't nervous, just so anxious for it all to start. Now I'm 10 days post-op!!!!! Wow it's so hard to believe.

No, I didn't finish everything I wanted done. No, my winter clothes are not put away, no my summer clothes are not out. I'll be wearing the same pair of shorts all summer!!!!!

I bought frozen meals and have lots. My house is clean only because I hired someone to come in and clean it the day after I went into the castle. It was fun coming home to a clean house. I just didn't want to worry about it at all. DH spent all his time at the Castle with me and has been a dream since we came home. Waiting on me hand and foot for the first few days. Then he went back to work on Monday. I've been alone except I have a 26 year old son that comes and goes. He's just not the same. I have to ask for everything I want. Carry this, do that.

My point is, the time will pass and it will all be fine. Just enjoy yourself this last week. Do something fun for you!!! Buy all your birthday cards for the summer birthdays, have a nice lunch with a girlfriend, or go to a dollar movie. The time is going to pass so make the best of it. DON'T STRESS.

Email me any time.

freak out is coming-- I can feel it!!

I have two more days of work Monday and Tuesday only because I need the paycheck. My disability doesn't go into effect until the day of surgery. I finally got the word that my insurance will cover all the surgery so i just have to worry about my $200 a day hospital charges!! Like I want to worry about money now!!

My mom lives 300 miles away and has a bad back, but when I got home from work she was standing in my driveway. She downed her pain meds, and her friend drove her over to see me today because she wanted to check on how I was doing. So we sat on my lawn -luckily my Dh hadn't watered it today!! And talked for a couple of hours!!! It was great seeing her. She wanted to give me a hug and make sure that everythign was ok. She is going to try to come back over a few weeks after I get back from the castle. She left with the hospital number in her hand. And will call me to chat.

My kids (12 and 10) and Dh are going to make my time away an adventure. I figure if I get back and no one is dead or grounded everything went ok. I'm cleaning house this weekend, and the kids are going to help me clean MY room. So everything is neat and tidy when I get back (at least what I'll be allowed to see.)They promised to keep the house clean while I'm gone but I know better. My ride will come get me and they will be scrambling to clean the house

I still have to pack my bag too. I'm leaving here Wednesday and staying with a friend since I have to be at the castle at 6 am.
I'm taking my lavender baby lotion because it smells so good, and lots of hair ties since my hair is so long. And my tummy pillow since I'll have a 2 hours drive home!! If I don't need it for my tummy then I can sleep on it!!

Beache tell your kids that Mommy has to have her tummy fixed and that you will be gone for a few days. Explain to them that you will be tired and you won't be able to hold them in your lap for a while. But you still love them and that they can help you remember that your tummy is going to hurt. My kids the last surgery I had were great!! My son was 4 and he read me stories, his version didn't match the words but it was funny. My daughter who was 7,made it her job to bring me things, like the paper and drinks, I over looked the spills she really tried to help. They will be fine once you get home.
