Hyster Sister to be

I am 43 years old and have been suffering with severe pre and post menstrual cramping, If I felt good one week out of the month it was a godsend. I also have a problem with leaking (urine) when I sneeze or cough. I've had these problems for about 8 years now and all my previous gyns have advised me that It was because I was getting older. The problems have progressed through the years, Finally I found A doctor with some compassion and he ran a battery of test including sonograms and urodynamic test. The test showed numerous fibroids, prolasped uterus and I think it is called Stress Related incontinance. Anyway he gave the the option of treating the problems with medications, Lupron being one of them or a hysterectomy. I opted for the hysterctomy he is also going to do something about my bladder problem, I'm not clear on what exactly he is going to do, he mentioned something about putting a permanant sling around my bladder? Anyway, I am scheduled for these procedures in July, I think that I have too much time to think about it because I am getting very nervous and anxious about the whole thng. I would like to hear from women who have had these procedures done so that I could have some idea on what to expect. By the way he did mention that the procedures will be done vaginally
