6 week check up question

Hi,
I am 8 weeks out from TAH/BSO/BURCH procedure. At my 6 week check up doc examined incision (vertical re-entry from C-section), and asked how I felt etc. No internal exam. When I asked about it he said he wouldn't put me through that!! I will see him again in January for annual check up, pap, and mamo. Is this usual?? I don't want to just assume all is ok. Also, has anyone had pain with intercourse after this procedure? Will it subside in time? Only tried a few times but pain each time. Sure takes away from the fun. Thanks for any info.

6 week check up question

Hi.....Forme
I'm sure all DR's are different. I had the same things done as you did on 5/21, my six week check up is next Monday. They told me at my two week, which was just questions, that at 6 wks they would check me internally to make sure the vaginal-cuff was healed and closed....???? Not sure what all that means or exactly what will take place. So we'll see next week what happens.

Scary

I wouldn't think that would be normal. I am a PIW. One of the many reasons for me having the surgery is the pain after sex thing (lasts several days). I was hoping it would go away after the surgery. Maybe you just haven't given it enough time.

I hope it goes away.

6 week check up question

I didn't have an internal exam post op. THe doc saw me at 2 weeks and basically cleared me...no other scheduled visits.

I have had some problems (retained undisolved sutures) that have required his attention but I haven't had a "true" exam and have none planned.

6 week check up question

Better check with your DR for help with this. There are times when it happens. Sometimes the solution is simple. For example, it could have something to do with hormone balance. There are other reasons, too. Age can play a part, as well. See what your DR says and let us know how you are doing.

Best Wishes.

6 week post-op

Hi Forme,

At my two week, my doctor said she would do an internal at my six week, which is tomorrow. I believe the norm is an internal, otherwise, how will the doctor really know what's going on inside of you? I'd ask about this.
