Central Fla Ladies- Are you dry

I'm Hoping all the Ladies her that live in Central Fl are stayng high and dry.

I've seen on reports that with all the rain that has been falling (not here in Pinellas County) there has been some flooding.

Try to stay dry. I'm thinking of you

We had what my grandma used to call "a gullywasher" here in Lakeland on Monday. It was so bad a lady had to be rescued out of her car after she accidentially ran off in a drainage ditch (she couldn't tell where it was since the whole street was under water.

I live in an apartment complex and when it rains so much that the ground gets saturated like it has these last few weeks, my front porch floods and I have to wade through water over my ankles to get in and out of my house. (I'm moving in August to get away from this situation. I've ruined so many pairs of shoes!)

What's funny is, we still have water restrictions and we're still in a drought! Yeah, right. They haven't been to my house in the afernoons!

Ah, well, the fun of living in Florida - liquid sunshine!

Like Shashi, I am in Lakeland and we are soggy! I was driving home from work in Clearwater earlier in the week and hit the weather just as I came across the bridge part of the Causeway that stretches across Tampa Bay. I was born and raised in FL and have driven in some heavy rain in my life, but this was the first time that I had to pull off of the road and wait til it let up a little. The radio announcer said we were getting 4 inches of rain an hour.

I had to chuckle this morning as I read the paper - there was a reminder that we are still under watering restrictions, as Shashi mentioned in her post. Not that I need to water the part of my lawn that is under several inches of water already! But I am not complaining....

Hope everyone else is doing ok!

It's been ridiculously hot here in Tampa on days when it doesn't rain. I take an antipsychotic and am not supposed to get overheated. We live near the 'hood and don't drive, take HARTline everywhere, so we have to plan our days carefully. Fortunately, work is in walking distance for both of us.
