lip swelling

Hi,
I had a Total abdominal hysterectomy on April, 17 this year.
About 4 weeks ago my upper lip started swelling. I believe it could be related to my hrt.
I read where other members are having their allergies blow up, and was wondering if this could be other allergy related problem.
(I also take allergy medicine.)
Has anyone found a hrt that is a little more "sun friendly". (if there is such a thing)
I am a true "snowflake", I do not worship the sun, and wear sun block when I garden.
I recently went to my regular doctor and they gave me perscriptions for treatment of a cold sore? They seem to work temporarily.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
L

lip swelling

Hi L,

The swelling could bea symptom of any one of a number of problems -allergic reaction to medication among them. Is the swelling the begining of your cold sore or is it something different?

I think all HRT have the chance to make one photosensitive - I haven't heard anything about one particular type being especially bad or good.

I hope you feel better

you didn't say how long you've been on your hrt, but when i started hrt my lips swelled and felt funny for a couple of weeks, then it suddenly went away. be sure if your throat starts swelling that you go to the hospital immediately!
