Hi Everyone!

I had a great OP day yesterday. I did 1500 calories and kept the fat to 9%.....trying to make up for my recent bad choices. I think it was Bobby who told me how she cooks chix cutlets on the grill and I tried it yesterday. It was sticking at first, so I put it on the high grill and turned it to low. It took about 25 minutes, but came out great. I had marinated it with a low fat garlic marinade, and it worked fine. Now I can cook steak, hamburgers, hot dogs and chix on the grill! I'll never admit it around here, though. When we have a cookout I do the wings, sausage & pepper and salads...all the things that can be done in advance. I leave the grill to the men. I even did 30M on the treadmill. We have the smoke coming down from Canada blocking the sun and keeping us a bit cooler. The sky has been an eerie yellow. They say it should start diminishing tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Hi all,
Just a quick post, I wrote a long one yesterday and when I hit the button it got lost in cyberspace!

Hope all is going OP.

Back to school for teachers today - meetings are such a waste of time, I would rather spend time preparing lessons. Tomorrow the students will be back and my life will once again be ruled by that bell!

I went to the gym at 5.30am. this morning and felt fantastic all day - I have read something about endorphins giving you a 'high'.

My dear husband has to fly to Tasmania (about 3hr. flight in total) tomorrow as his brother is ill and needs support. My girls will be a big help they are 13, 13 and 10. I am a bit worried about leaving them to get ready for school by themselves, my husband usually does the morning routine as I have to drive 1hr. to work. This will be a good test of my resolve to not 'stress eat'.

Well, my quick post has turned out to be quite long.

EM - well done on your food intake and exercise! I have no idea what chix cutlets are!!!!!

Helllllllllllllllooooooooooooooooooooo

HI everyone. I was so so so so bad. The kids were away for 4 days.( missed them terribly) so hubby and I went golfing then out for lunch, out for dinner and then to the neighbours for drinks on .

One of the neighbours that was there has lost 110 pounds on weight watchers. She looks great! thank goodness she has a good sense of humour because hubby stuck his foot in his mouth big time. He did not recognize her at all. Since she has moved to our neighbourhood she has lost 65 pounds and dyed her hair blond( which I do not like at all) anyway. He told her that he remembers the woman who lived there before her. He then went on in great detail to describe her. Meanwhile I am trying to give him the evil eye to shut up . NOPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Finally my other neighbour and I tell him that she is the the same person. He was moritfied and did not beleive us. Well of course we all are laughing like crazy now. Caroline ran home to get some pictures. Some of when she weighed 110 pounds more and what she looked like when she moved in. Hubby and said you expect me to realize they are the same person. Anyway I have teased him all weekend. She does look great. Very motivating. She had a tummy tuck to as she had 4 kids in 5 years. She is trying to become a leader and wants to run a program in our small village. I think I may join after my vacation in August. If I am paying money and someone else is weighing me I tend to be better. We shall see.

I hope you all have a really great day. Dawn I hear ya on cheating. Makes me mad. I think I am forgoing the scale this week.

Dany I hope you feel better soon.

To the rest of my new friends. Have a super day

Unhappy - Monday, July 8th I did it again......

Hey Everyone,

Well I blew it again......I went completely off progam yesterday, again!!

I have been sitting here typing and then erasing and re-typing over and over again trying to get the words to come out right to explain what is going on with me and I just can't seem to get it right!! In all honesty and more accurately what I have been doing is sitting here having a huge pity party for myself and dwelling on how pathetic I am!! I know that is not a good thing to be doing this and I need to *stop* right now!! I am just sabotaging myself even more! Ever notice how it is soo tough somedays to crawl out of that sabotage pit that we throw ourselves into and other days we just breeze through the day toally OP as if we've never even had an off day? I wish I knew what made the difference and could duplicate those totally on days!!!!!! I know that patience is one of the key factors to reaching my goal of being the healthiest I can be. However I am like everyone else and I want it now!!! That is proving to be very frustrating at times but I know I have all of you here with me and that is a huge advantage! Thank You all for being here!!!! I know with all of you with me I will not fail, I will reach my goal!!!!

's and 's to all of you!!!!!

It's a new day, and I have been fortunate enough to be given yet another day and another chance to continue with my quest to be healthy and I don't plan to continue with staying in this sabotage pit any longer, I will claw my way out and have a great OP day!!!!

EM~~ Yay....you did it!!!!!!! I LOVE chix on the grill, actually just about anything on the grill...LOL!! Hope you have another great OP day!!!!!

{{{Diana}}}~~ I am sorry to hear about your BIL, I will be sure to pray for him and your family! Hope all goes well with school starting back up for you.

Cath~~ I know just what you mean about getting angry at yourself for going off, I think that is good that we get angry though!!! If we didn't have any emotion about it and just said ever so non-chalantly "Oh well it's no big deal, I'll just start over again tomorrow", then I think we would have a bigger problem!! Since we do get angry or upset with ourselves that shows me that we *do* expect to reach our goals and have confidence that we will succeed and when we think we are deviating form those plans it makes us mad that we aren't doing what is neccessary to reach our goal!! Again I think is a key factor for any life style change and THAT in itself is really tough!!!! We have to except that we indeed *will* have off days( probably lots of them) but we also have to see to that we will have lots of totally on days too and whats the most important is that we never stop trying no matter how long it takes!! At my rate I may end up being too old and senile to know that I've reached my gaol but at least I will be there anyway...LOL!!! BTW-I love your neighbor story, that is a really good one!!!!

Well I guess I better go as this is sooooo long already!

Hope you all have the BESTEST OP Day Ever!!!!!

Take Care, Dawn

Another hot day in GA.. I haven't eaten yet, and it is noon. Just not hungry.. I have to go to the grocery store, so I need to eat something before I go, or I will buy a bunch of junk I don't need..

Going to try and be good today.. I have some chicken breast laid out for dinner..don't know how I want to fix them yet..lol

EM-I keep grilled chik breast in the freezer all the time, for when I am flying low and too busy to really think about dinner..just use them in a salad, or pour some leftover spahetti sauce over them and fix some pasta..whatever I have on hand..

Diana-I think EM meant chicken breasts(boneless, skinless) when she said chik cutlets.. I sure wish we had year round school here..would make it so much easier to have a vacation around the military..like this summer, if DH had gone out to sea with his sub(stayed home due to my surgery) we would have not had an opportunity to go on vacation as a family..

Cathlaur-I know you were mortified when he started talking, but I will bet that your neighbor loved it...How long has it taken her to lose 110??

Well everyone have a great day, and drink your water...
Hugs,
Laura

Dawn what is going on in your life at this time? Something has triggered your eating. Take time and really see what is going on. Don't beat yourself up. You get back on track eventually. Until then deal with other issues and not the weight. Sometimes we make this weight loss our only focus. We are here for you so don't give up.

EM sounds like you got the chicken under control I am glad you are eating again since weather is cooler.

Cath tell your husband not to feel embrassed, that much weight gone a person will look different.

I am doing good today. I went shopping for food. I had a heathy lunch and drinking my water. I did weigh in today and no gain, yea. I feel good after eating spo bad when I was out of town.

Everyone have a bless op day.

beautiful hystersisters

Hi girls!

Thank you to all of you for sharing your wonderful stories. This is just what I needed right now! (to figure out what is going on with me)

I have a batch of brownies that my DH reluctantly bought for me after my reassuring him I would be okay with it, in my fridge.

I think I realize why I wanted them--BTW--so far I've eaten only one small one, but I'm scared! :alarm:

This is what is happening: My daughter (23) is angry with me because I will not foot the bill for both she and her newest boyfriend, to fly out here for a visit. I will gladly pay for her ticket--she's a student and works part time to support herself, I understand that, but why should I have to buy her boyfirend a ticket also? She said she will come only if he comes with her.

I am feeling very upset about this and my DH has listened and listened to me talk about it, but I think writing about it is helping me, too!

Thank you once again for listening and for being so honest! It really makes a big difference when people don't pretend (like I sometimes do) that things are perfect!

My is still swelly!

Monday, July 8th

HI everyone.

Wow I miss one day and wow lots of posts to catch up with. Yesterday was a great day, I stayed op all day, yay me. That was a major accomplishment for me. I even got lots of exercise in as well. Having so much property is a god send in one sense, I have so much to mow and I enjoy using the push mower. I won't let dh get a riding mower. He just laughs and says ok. Friday and Sat I spent 3 hours mowing then yesterday about another 1 and this morning I spent another 1hour at it. I love it, I get to see my results in the yard and get my exercise as well. The area the I worked on today and will for the next while is a small field behind the house, it was hay crop but we are not using it for that so I get to cut it with the mower and get exercise as well. Gotta love it.

Today has been a pretty good day. I am making baked beans for supper, I will have to be careful and measure that for sure, I love them so much. But they are good for you right?

Dany~ I hope you feel better soon and get the answers that you want.

Pam~ Thank you for your kinds words, they mean so much to me. You have such a great atttiude and it really helps me alot.

Em~ Thank you for the info on DP I will give it a try, I do have V3. I sure hope that smoke clears for you soon. We have had that problem here in Alberta as well.

Dawn~ sorry about your gain. We will get there just hold on. IN your post today you took the words right out of my mouth. Wow someone who know how I have been feeling and not able to put them into words. We can do it. I know we can

Princess, Suzi & TC~ Welcome to the BEST group.

BSQ~ MMMMM Lobster, I sure hope it was good. Its been a while since I had it. I would walk a long way for Lobster. I don't use butter with it either. I am sorry about your gain.

Laura~ Congrats on your loss, you are doing great.

Desk~ Hope you are having a great day, I do the same as you with the scales.

Michele~ Glad you had a good trip, congrats on the no gain

Diana~ My prayers are wiht your dh and his brother.

Cath~ Your story about dh and the foot in mouth was to funny. I hope he is not to embarresed.

Well tomorrw is weigh in for me and I am pretty certain that I will have a gain according to how I have been eating lately. But with any luck I am back on track now. Good luck to everyone in meeting your goals this week.

Hugs

Dear Denise,

That is so nice of you to respond to everyone and be so encouraging!

I was reading some of Denise Austin's tips on junk foods and it motivated me to take my pan of brownies out to the big trash can (outside) and be RID of them! Thank goodness.

Her tip was that: hydrogenated soybean (or other) oils were the worst kind for our body. I knew that already, but just needed to have it reiterated. I am usually very careful with those hydrogenated oils.

Those beans sound wonderful!

My DH and I are both vegetarians, so we eat beans everyday! Yes, they are extremely healthy for you!!! All that wonderful protein, b vitamins & fiber & carbohydrates. Good for you!!

I am having a diet Snapple raspberry iced tea for a snack.

Take care and hang in there everyone. We can do it--one day at a time--even one minute or second at a time and with the loving help of everyone here.

Talking - Monday, July 8th Monday, July 8th

Good evening everyone! Wow, so much to catch up on. I've exercised and drank my water for the day! Yesterday finished as it began, OP and today has as well too. Today ... well I had told my sweetie I wanted a PB&J sandwich something awful. (I don't normally eat peanutbutter and if it were me alone a jar would spoil before I even made a respectable dent in it). I had no intention of making one, but when I came home, my sweetie had left me one of my lunch boxes (I collect them) in the fridge with a thermos of soy milk, (just enough to fill my moocow glass) a PB&J sandwich wrapped up in wax paper, 1 hershey's kiss and an apple. Bless his little heart I nearly cried. Put it all into DP and saw that it would work into my day, so yes, that was dinner. He's a keeper.

To all who wondered, the lobster was wonderful. I was careful all day to save up calories for it as it was a pretty big meal. steak, lobster, green beans, wild rice, fresh baked bread .. all in moderation. Since I didn't plan ahead I had no champagne or wine, so we drank diet sprite out of champagne flutes. Dessert was baked cinnamon apples (with no extra sugar). Enough about me, on to you all ...

Texas Chick: Welcome aboard! Be sure not to over exert yourself with all that traveling. This princess doesn't "do" luggage. Good luck with your journey, I firmly believe slow n steady keeps the pounds off for life. I have kept a good amount off for a couple of years now. I know it is never coming back, and am working on losing the rest of what I'd like. I look forward to reading your posts!

Desk: Doh! How can you stand to check the scale that much! But since you do, you may want to read up on when the scale shows a loss after exercising ... you may need to drink more water afterwards to replace that. It is generally a sign of a dehydration loss that needs to be replaced.

Michelle: welcome back! Great to hear your family noticed your weightloss efforts! What a boost!! Congrats on having No Gain while being on vacay! That is just great!

Em: wow! 9% fat is phenominal! You've about got those ribs neutralized! I'm glad the chicken worked out for you. I'm actually not allowed to use our grill (it's a guy thing) so I can only report what I watch. We have cast iron grates that are well seasoned. I don't think anything would stick to them ... but I am glad you figured it out and can now have some ready for meals. I'm still speechless over the 9%!

Diana: school already? It seems like youonly just got out. I agree, when I work out in the morning my whole day feels better. When I don't workout I do notice a difference.

Cath: Wow, 110lbs. I would love to meet someone who has lost that much and kept it off. I would be the equilivant of your husband. I pretty much just say what's on my mind whether someone is trying to shut me up or not. (as I'm sure you ladies have noticed by now). I'm sure you're neighbor didn't mind and can't fault him since she must surely look like a different person now. (I get confused when a guy grows a beard!) Getting back OP I'm sure will not be an issue for you.

Dawn, Dawn, Dawn: Sorry I disagree. I wholeheartedly do not believe in chastising oneself when we go off plan ... especially when we have been going off plan more frequently than we would like. I firmly believe we have to shrug and say oops, and vow to do better ... but we have to not only vow, but try as well. Being upset or angry is wasted energy. Look at the goals you set yesterday. What is the point of being angry? You still have 6 days to make those goals, and at 3 exercise and 5 eating OP, you still have plenty of time to acheive that. You did not start your week saying "I am going to be perfect every minute of every day." Give yourself credit. You have recognized yesterday was not how you would have liked it to be, but you still have 6 days in the week. Now at day 5 if you're still off plan ... well then we'll see about :spanking: you.

Laura: Hot day in GA is an UNDERSTATEMENT. Ugh! Hope you are not feeling as tired n rundown today. I know this weather also contributes to that.

Suzi: If yu think they are going to be a temptation for you, time to put some of those brownies in the freezer to get them out of site. It is a known fact that the freezer door does cut off some of the stray calls of your name that certain foods have been known to emit. : ) Hope things get better for you. Be strong. You're daughter will see that you are being sensible (eventually).

Denise: I am going to go out on a limb here, but I am going to venture to guess that you do not have a gain tomorrow. I have a hunch that you are doing better than you think you are ... even when you "mess up". I can only imagine the exercise mowing the lawn (alas another guy tool I am not allowed to touch).

All: Hope your day continued the way you hoped it would, and tommorrow will be the BEST day yet!
