Happy to have found you...

Hello,
I just found this sight and am thrilled!
I have been battling problems for the past 11 years... 2 c-sections, tubal, a botched lap for endo, left ooferectomy (sp?) and 3 surgeries to remove ovarian cysts not to mention a ton that burst before getting to that point. I've known for quite a while that a hysterectomy was inevitable. Just a question of how long I wanted to put up with the pain. But still I held out.. fear of the unknown I guess. Funny thing is, I think I'm more scared of the hormone "thang" then the surgery!
I'm still in the early planning/research stages. Want to investigate DRs. (we are military, any experience with the Tri-Care system, and any Dr referals in the DC area would be greatly appreciated)
All that I have talked to have said they feel better then they have in years.. Can this be true?

I am also glad you found this site. It has helped me more than I can say. I am still waiting for my surgery, but these ladies here have been more help than anyone I have talked to or any books I have read (except the Hystersister book). There is always someone here that can offer a suggestion, encouraging word or answer to your questions.

Welcome aboard. Sounds like you've had a lot of surgical experience! I hope you won't need any more after this one.

Is there any kind of Military Wives' Club in your area - I'll bet you'd find a bunch who'd had hysts. Also, if you know any local nurses, ask them.
