Feels like something inside is falling down!

Hello sisters, I will be 5 weeks post Wednesday from TAH/RSO, left already gone. My question is has anyone ever felt like something was falling out of their vagina after surgery? I didn't have any rectocele or cystoceles prior to surgery, but I have read posts where women have written that their bladders were falling, etc. I never had that. What I am experiencing now is a strange sensation up inside and a feeling like something is on its way down, and a pulling and tugging sensation, which I assume is the dissolvable staples on the cuff.

I was constipated the other day and after drinking lots of water and eating some pitted prunes I attempted to go and was pushing. Could I possibly have pushed too hard and done something? I go for my post-op on Tuesday and plan to ask my doctor, but I thought I would post here too.

I also am having a lot of pulling and spasms in my abdomen and left groin. I know we have lots of stitches in there so I was just assuming I was healing. I also tore some of the deep stitches my first few days home because of some complications, so thought maybe the stitches healing were causing even more discomfort than normal.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Feels like something inside is falling down!

Hi Jetgirl,

I had similar feelings. When I mentioned it to my Dr he said it is probably where the cervix was removed from the vaginal vault and the sutures healing and disolving. When he looked, he assured me that nothing was falling out.

If you have any doubts, give your Dr a call.

Hope everything is just healing and new sensations like it was with me!

Thanks!

Caren, thank you for responding so quickly. I am glad to hear you felt something similar. I was really getting a little panicked over here. Everything is just very sore again and I was getting nervous.

Glad

Boy, Am I glad I just saw this post. This past week, I had a day where it felt like something was coming out. Almost like a tampon that wasn't put in properly. I was panicked , I thought I broke something. I decided since it was the weekend to wait until Monday to call the doctor if the feeling did not go away. Well, it went away by Sunday Morning, but I still did not know what is was.

I haven't felt the feeling since either.

Feels like something inside is falling down!

DonnakDiamond, just so you know since I posted this I have been back to my dr and it was just the dissolvable staples I have on the cuff healing. He assured me nothing was on its way out. Everything is healing fine. Thank goodness.

Feels like something inside is falling down!

I am 10 weeks post op and have had similar sensations, especially right about 5-6 weeks. I also got freaked out by what other women had posted. "Fortunately," I had some bleeding at the same time and went to the doctor. She checked all four sides of the vaginal wall and said everything was holding fine. She thought I was probably experiencing the normal sensations of healing. Also, I think the stitches in the vaginal rub against the walls and create some of these sensations.

I could swear that I could feel when there was feces in my rectum that did not want to come out (sorry for being so graphic). I have found that now that I am more regular and things are softer, those sensations have greatly improved.

Sometimes I think I have been so focused on "down there" for so long, that it is going to take a long time to feel "normal." But I will tell you that the last week has been my best. There were actually a couple of days I forgot I had had surgery only 10 weeks ago.

If you are anxious, have your doctor check it out. I sure slept better knowing it wasn't all falling out. Speedy recovery!

Back to the Doctor again- 6 weeks post

Went back to the again and he did lossen everything by cutting a stitch and he said I would bleed for another week or so until all the other sutures dissolved out. Then I guess I won't even need a panti liner again. (I know by now I own stock in the Always with wings pads).

Things still feel funny but the bleeding is slowing and I am starting to move around faster. He wants to see me again in a couple of weeks to check me out as I am healing slower at the cuff than anywhere else.

11 weeks post

I will be 11 weeks post-op tomorrow and as of a week ago I still had staples dissolving on my vaginal cuff. When I saw the doctor at 9 weeks he said they were almost all healed, but a few were still hanging around. I was having some spotting and discomfort, but he said that was completely normal, and has since stopped completely. I haven't felt this good in years.
