Depo and endo

I have a question for anyone who may have an idea,,,

With all that is going on in the news about synthetic progesterone, I am reluctant to get my last depo injection. I am due for my last one in August. I am told it assists with menopausal symptoms without estrogen and it helps kill off the endo. I don't WANT to take the shot and am wondering what any other ladies may be thinking. Do I NEED to do this last shot? It lasts three months BTW...scary huh? What am I doing? Storing 3 months worth somewhere in my body? YIKES!

Any opinions would be welcome!

Depo and endo

Hi Lil.

Good to see ya posting... I just am not sure what to tell you... I don't have any info or experience with this shot.... But I would go with my gut feeling on this....... SCARY!!!!!!

Wit all the things coming out now I myself am soooo glad I don't take any of it.......

I watched Larry King the other night and he had on DR Andrew Weil...... I am a big fan of this DR.... He does not think woman should put things they might not need in the body.......He also is a big black cohosh fan for flashes...........He felt woman who have been through surgery if they choose HRT should only stay on it 1 year.......I am going to buy his new book.... I just like what he says... And how he feels about things........ He felt that if a woman wants HRT then SOY is the better becouse its a natural.....

I wish I had the answer for you but I don't... Talk it over with the dr and see how he/she feels..... But do what you feel is the best for you.......... s

Scared to do and not to do

I am really afraid that if I DON'T do the last injection that the endo will return. That scares me more than anything! Endo supposedly can't grow without estrogen. Surely my stored estrogen has to be used up by now! What a pickle I am in! LOL Gosh darn't, I feel like I don't have a choice! And I don't like being scared. Thanks sisterneed for your input!

Depo and endo

Lil....

I also had endo very bad... Did the DR get it all????? I wonder ???

I was told by my DR not to worry it's all gone and he told me no reason for it to return.....

I don't know???? thats why it's so important to talk to the dr... also I try to read as much info as I can...

I read that endo can't grow back when a tah/bso is done??? I don't know????

Lil don't be scared.. Your fine and you'll get yourself all

Do what you feel is best for you..... thats always the best choice...

Called DR

Hi again,
Yes, you can get endo back. It can affect the bladder, bowel etc.. That is why my DR is so adamant about no HRT. His nurse just called me back and told me that I DO need to get the last injection. The Depo DOES help to kill the microscopic pieces of endo that may have been left behind. So I guess I'll go the one more shot. Better safe than sorry! There is a link in the Road Less Traveled about endo returning. Women with severe cases of endo have a type of remission when pregnant due to the increase in progesterone. BUT it is estrogen fed so you should be just fine. Thank you for telling me not to get all crazy! LOL...It's easy to do that these days!

HUGS!

Depo and endo

I had endo on some enlarged veins that they couldn't safely remove, and yes it can return. Mainly in scar tissue, which we all have after a surgery. My dr. advised no hrt for 3 months, no depo, I had been on too many drugs, depo, and lupron in the past and just wanted to detoxify. So I chose no hrt for as long as I can. I am doing bone scans every few years and if my bones start to go down hill, we will discuss then what to do. One more shot is the way to go if your dr. thinks it is necessary.
