tah 8/6/02 complex cyst

I was diagnosed with a large complex cyst on left ovary just 2 weeks ago. My mother passed from ovarian cancer almost 4 years to the date of my dx. These last 2 weeks have been extremely stressful. ca125 test came back normal but gyn says test will not always be elevated in stage 1 or 2 ovarian cancer. I am having tah on 8/6/02. I have learned so much from this site and love all the support. Any advise on making recovery easier would be greatly appreciated.

I was so scared of the possiblity of ovarian cancer too. I have a yucky dermoid cyst on one of the old egg makers and uterine fibroids, so I told the Dr. to just back up the cart and haul it ALL away. I just want to be done with all of it and think that even if they found cancer, well then at least it was found early. I am very faithful to always have my annual humiliation exam and I realized that they couldn't diagnose ovarian cancer that way, so I had an ultrasound to diag. the cyst.
