Wow, I'm first? And I don't even usually post!
But I'm excited. I've been weight training, drinking blueberry smoothies for breakfast, bringing salads for lunch every day, and eating nuts and dried cherries for snacks. They're high in calories, but I seem to eat less later in the day because of that. This weekend I visited two friends with scales. You all know I don't trust scales, but of course they have an unholy fascination for me because of that. The whole reason I don't have one is because if I did I'd probably never leave the bathroom (weigh, pee, weigh, pee, weigh, pee...)
Low 130's. One scale said 130, one said 133. My gosh, I passed my first goal and never even noticed!
Weight training is da bomb!
Good luck staying OP today! I hope it's not hot where you are and you all get to exercise.

Congrats Denise!
I am working on finishing last years taxes. We filed an extension and I procrastinated of course! The deadline is quickly approaching and I am just getting started!
I will be at the computer ALL DAY entering data, but hope to take a walk break here and there.
Weigh in day for me! I am not very optimistic about tongihts weigh in day after my camping adventure, but the scales will let me know how it really did!
Hugs

Hi everyone,
Today has been pretty good. Had lunch with friends, but did fine. Did my yoga, water, etc. Still want to do my walking. I think my blister is well enough to pop on a bandaid and do my walking tape. My only downfall today--DH and I went into town to drop off one of our motorcycles to be repaired and stopped and had a drink. A big margarita--yuum, but oh so many points. My WW leader always says, do you want to drink your points or eat them? LOL At times, that's a hard decision. Tomorrow is weigh in and I've felt like I've had a really good week, so hopefully that won't mess me up.
DeniseB--Congrats on that scale reading! I'm hoping the weights with the walking tape will make a big difference for me over time. Glad you've found some food that satisfies you and holds you over.
Traci--Good luck with the taxes (ugghhhh!) and journaling.
Dawn--Don't take offense. I know you haven't always liked flylady, but she's doing special notices on moving right now because one of her staff is moving. The info is under Wagons Ho on her home page. There might be some info there that's helpful to you. Have you done your exercise today? Remember what a great stress reducer they are.
Have a great evening all and good tomorrow! I probably won't be posting until later tomorrow.

Pam--I am so sorry about the problem with your meds and your incision. Your ER visit must have been scary. Try to keep your chin up. Brighter days are ahead for you. s

Well we can't go having Dawn do a complete meltdown. I have not been posting simply out of time. My job has shifted into high stress mode and since I work in the IT industry, sometimes the last thing I want to see is a computer screen. Exercise, Food and Water have all been OP for me. Sunday showed a 2.5 loss. My shift to using weights is still going well and I enjoy it. I alternate with cardio workouts as well.
Daily there are struggles, but I manage to find the inner strength to remember my resolutions and move forward.
Denise B: Well hello there stranger and congratulations on making your first goal. I agree with your love of weight training. It is yet another exercise where I felt I would never find myself saying "Hey, I really like this!"
Traci: get back to work. Hopefully it does not turn into too bad a marathon doing your taxes. I am sending light thoughts your way, and hoping all went in your favor at your weighin. I saw your post on crunches and lower back pain, and I'll add that in your case it might be form ? If you have not, you might want to look up on the web to see the proper form you should be holding. WHen I first did crunches I would get a lower back ache or a neck strain, both in my case do to improper form. Sometimes I still have to really concentrate on keeping my hips squared and pressing the middle of my back down while tightening the actual muscles. (thank goodness I can walk n chew gum at the same time!) Took me a while to get over the fact that you are not really lifting up a whole lot off the ground either. Anyway, my experience has been that crunches seem like an easy exercise to do, yet are one of the more difficult ones to do properly.
Dawn: <BSQ reaches in bra for a tissue> here hon <refluffs bra> dry your eyes woman, you're mascara is going to run. Good luck with your house trials and tribulations. Right wrong or indifferent you've had to but yourself towards the bottom of the list. So roll with the punches n deal with the consequences later. ...
but since that doesn't sound like a BSQism... snap outta it! You are important and your health is important. Life and being here for your family to enjoy it with them is more valuable than a possession. While all is chaotic you still must fuel your body and perhaps even more so now than ever it is important to fuel it properly. I know you know the right things to be doing, but you are finding it difficult to make time for yourself. Unfortunately in that instance there's nothing anyone could do to help get you back on track. We all need to remind ourselves why we started down this road in the first place and find our reason d'etre, joire de vivre ... whatever.
The other night Traci posted something quite wise at the end of a day. We all seem terribly busy, and have much going on in our lives right now. She encouraged us to take a moment, if only a brief one, for ourselves. In our own ways all of us are good and consoling sisters, giving advice to sisters ... and hopefully taking our own advice as well.
To all: Hope your days are OP and inst4ead of burned out, may the burn be from your exercises!

Weigh in was a good one... down 1.4 this week.
I tried to buy myself a new WW cookbook tonight as a special treat just for me... but the leader told me they would be on sale next week and I could get 2 for the price of one. That is a GOOD thing since I was struggling on between two titles! So I sorta did something for me... it will just be delayed a week!
What did you do for yourself today?

Well, you didn't ask ME, but I'll jump in anyway. You should raise up the amount you would if somebody dropped something on your tummy while you were lying there. Your shoulder blades should just barely clear the floor. I do my crunches with my knees in the air, shins paralell to the floor, ankles crossed. Back should be NEARLY flat, but there may be a little natural arch and Weight Training for Dummies says you shouldn't actually FORCE your lower back into the floor.
Prevention magazine suggests 3 seconds to raise, three to hold, three to lower. If you do this, you'll find you can't do nearly as many crunches, but they'll be a lot more effective, so who cares?
