Doc moved surgery up

Well I saw the today for my pre-op. He also moved my surgery up one week. They are going to scope first to determine the extent of what I need removed. Then remove what needs to be removed all at the same time. This way he doesn't need to put me out 2 times. Of course I was told if it just wasn't the fibroid, that I would need to have it all removed if he found endo. My DH came with he had his share of questions and he also feels better now that he met the Doc and understands more of whats going on. The Doc did say because of my age that he would save what he could if no endo was invovled, so that I wouldn't need to have HRT if at all possible. The only thing is that he did ask me to move up the surgery a week, of all days 9/11. Please let it be a quite day in

Doc moved surgery up

The good news is you have one less week to worry! I think 9/11/02 is going to be one of the most secure days in history, everyone is going to be on high alert that day.

Best wishes!

Hi Julie,

Your wait has just been made shorter!! That's great news!! Be sure to read through the pre-op and post-op hints found in the drop down menus toward the bottom of the main page of this site. They will give you some ideas of how to prepare yourself and your family for your recovery.

I agree with Mary Lou, too - I think security will be at a very high level on September 11th, but if you are feeling really uncomfortable about the date, your doctor would probably be able to reschedule you - he wouldn't want to add to the normal stress of having surgery.

Please let us know how you are doing.

I'm hearing all around the country as I've traveled the last few weeks, that 9/11 should be one of the securest days by far!!!!!

As for your surgery, have faith. Breathe deep and it will all work out well.

Every doctor is different. Mine said because of my age he wanted to take everything out. I wondered if he was thinking that take everything out now and won't hvae to go bck in and do it later. Now I'm on premarin.

I certainly agree with your doctor of doing everything at once and avoiding being under anesthesia twice.

Keep the faith...

same surgery date

I just wanted to let you know that we share the same surgery date and I too had all the visions of past 9/11 go through my mind. I agree though with everyone who has said that it will probably be just as a safe as any other day.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers as we get our crowns together.

I think my DH was more worried about that day being my surgery. I keep telling him, things will be fine. If anything this day everyone will be on alert. He had me going at first, but when I started reading everyones relpies, it gave me that much needed assurance that things will be ok that day.

Thank you all for the support. I too will say a prayer for all the other this day 9/11 who will have surgery.

Good Luck to all of us!
