a year after the surgery........

Hello all --- my TAH/BSO was june 15, 2001 ----I am interested in others who have had that much time since the surgery and what goes on - what is normal or typical? I have lots of pain - like pre-period -- and am about to agree to a laparoscopy to see about adhesions - not happy about that -- really have had this pain since a couple of months after the surgery when the much- worse surgery lessened! Still struggling with patch strengths and problems (just began vivelle after 9 months of climara and immediately have too many migraines!) and have lots of forgetting , difficulty with word-finding and writing the wrong thing - oh and spots of brownish on my extrememly pale face -- my hair fell out in gobs but grew back a lot, thankfully, (to its previously thin self - but some hair, at least - smile )- -- more than this but don't want this to be such a long post or y'all won't read it! Moods - I never in my life had a cranky side and my poor husband ever since this surgery --- all of this is new since the surgery - absolutely related to it --- anybody else relate? Ideas? Support???? I am a mental health counselor and know about moods, for Pete's sake -- and these were nothing I ever experienced before, even with my horrible PMS (which had me crying, never cranky -- and of course the hemorrhaging -- the ONLY thing which has stopped since the surgery -- that is good of course -but with all of these new problems ! Thanks for "listening"== any letters appreciated --- thanks again - take care---- Judi

l year afterwards

,

Hi Judi:

I can certainly relate to your post. Everything...

I am almost 2 years, but had similar problems after l year.
Couldn't believe it. Thought surgery would take care of everything. Got fooled. I had a lot of pain in my lower right side. Guess it was/is adhesions. It still bothers me at times. Not as bad as it was but I still notice it at times.

Had all the crying, memory loss, ill all the time etc. You name it, I had it. It wasn't until I got on the right harmones and and right dosage, for me ( I am on the shot) that I began to feel much better. I still have some problems at time, but nothing that I can't handle. Much better than before.

I am sure someone will come along and post here, that is more knowledgeable about all this, and hopefully will give you some information that you hoping for. I know many, many of the sisters helped me through a terrible time and I am so thankful for finding this site.

Just wanted to let you know that you are not alone and we will all be here for you whenever you need us.

Sending you many many s and hoping you will find some relief real soon.
