How do you know whats real and whats not

Sometimes I feel overwhelmed. With the full time job and taking care of my disabled mother, and taking care of the house duties and finding time to be with my husband, I wonder sometimes if its not just stress. I have mood swings and hot flashes, and night sweats. They left my ovaries but could I still be having these symptons.

How do you know whats real and whats not

My husband is disabled (T5-T6 incomplete quadraplegic). I don't work outside the home, don't have my ovaries, and sometimes I still feel stressed to the max too. In my opinion, sometimes it's just life in general. As a caretaker I know sometimes it's hard to remember to take care of yourself when it seems like everybody else needs you to take care of them.
But, mood swings and hot flashes and night sweats sound pretty hormonal to me -- you didn't say when your surgery was but is it possible your ovaries haven't kicked in yet or you are going thru menopause even though you kept them? Sounds to me like you need to talk to your doctor and tell him what's happening. It is very possible to still have the symptoms you describe and still have your ovaries...........please talk to your doctor........it's tough enough doing all you do, without having to deal with those symptoms too.
Good luck to you!
Ann

A.D.:

Here's a link to the pull-down menu telling you how to check at home whether or not your ovaries are working: http://www.hormonejungle.com/work.php .

Certainly the ovaries tend to "sleep" for a while following surgery, since their blood supply has been so significantly interfered with.

Check it out. It is not uncommon for a Sister to need some short-term HRT until her ovaries decide to "wake up".

Good luck! You've got a lot on your plate, and remember to take care of yourself through all this, OK??
