Hi Everyone!

Yesterday was a wonderful day.........it poured and it was only 66 when I got up in the morning. We haven't had a good rain all summer so it was a gift. We got more than a half inch in the early morning and then the sun came out early afternoon. I took advantage and spent a good part of the day cleaning my downstairs. For most of the summer I've just been giving the house a "lick and a promise" as my mom used to say.

I was totally OP. I intended to meet Traci's challenge and try a new vegetable, but never made it to the store. By the time supper came I was tired so I had some Creole Chix over speghetti for dinner. No veg, but I had fruit salad for lunch and then again this evening. I'm counting the housework as exercise.

Everyone have a great day!

EM... today is a NEW day! Let me know what veggie you try... I hate veggies but I will try if you do!!

YES Tamara NEW icing does count!!!

I tried Baskin and Robbins Margarita Ice FF Sherbert! Awesome! Loved every FF bite!

A new treat is the stuff a good life is made of!

I also bought a NEW Robe and 2 NEW pairs of pants (on sale for 4 bucks... had to get them in 2 sizes, now and later sizes!), Tried a NEW "twirl a meal" Lean Cusine Basil Cream Chicken YUMMY, went to a NEW store downtown on my lunch hour, bought my kids NEW backpacks!

I am in a NEW mood! LOL

I was only down .6 at the scale today. Denise? Dany? How are the other Tuesday Weigh in Triplets doing? I was so OP this week and was very active, I was dissapointed with such a little loss. Hope I get a better pay off next week!

Someone please tell me why I was awake at 4:00 a.m. and could not get back to sleep? Desk, you are a bad influence !! The only time I get up that early is during fishing tournaments! I laid in bed for an hour thinking about my dentist appt this afternoon (it's only a consultation but I think I'm worried about what all he is going to say I need to have done........but I really this dentist and have been going to him since my college days........a LONG LONG time! and am very comfortable talking with him so I'm sure it will be ok) and thinking about BSQ's appt today and hoping all goes well for both of us.

Geez Traci it sure sounds like you are on a roll!! a NEW roll! sounds like you're having a blast! I am going to the gym this morning (oh yea Ann's back here we go with the everyday "I'm going to the gym" thing) and then I am going to the dentist and I need to stop at Sam's Wholesale on the way home and pick up a few things and I promise to try something NEW!

I'm putting a beef roast in the crock pot shortly, as we are having company coming over for dinner (a fishing tournament buddy......I don't have to go all out here, but he lives alone and brought some stuff back that we won at the Illinois tournament for us since he was driving back to Florida, so we thought he'd appreciate a home-cooked meal. And yes dh won a 5-inch black & white TV that operates on batteries or plugs into a regular outlet or the power outlet in a car or boat and two other gift baskets full of odds and ends of goodies which is what the buddy is delivering to us tonight). I won't have much time to fix dinner after I get home from dentist and Sam's so this way most of it will be already made and I will fix potatoes and a steamed veggie (thank goodness for bagged salad).

BTW.......speaking of NEW stuff.......I tried a mint Skinny Cow Ice cream sandwich yesterday......mmmmm,mmmmm, good!

Em........what is Creole Chix?

I'll check back later to see how everyone's doing!

Wow Traci! You really met your challenge in a big way! Don't forget your NEW shoes! I've never heard "twirl a meal", You're funny. And, thanks for the sherbet reminder. A great treat I often forget about.

EM- Congratulations on your BEST day!
Isn't it great to have the house clean?
If I dig way back into my memory banks, I can recall the feeling!
Do you like balsamic vinegar as salad dressing? Your post about salads reminded me of this very simple & tasty dish: feta cheese (or blue, if you're a blue cheese nut like me), sliced red onion & good, garden fresh tomatoes, Sprinkle B. vinegar over all & enjoy. Yummm. What is Creole Chix?
Good luck today, you're ON A ROLL!!!

Hope everyone has a great day today & enjoys the weather, whatever it is! We need rain, we need sun, so whatever we get is good!
OK, EM, I'm going to give the house some attention, too. The kids start school soon, & I'm taking a class, too, and things get so busy that I think it's now or never. It's so great starting the school year feeling clean & organized. (tho I'm sure I won't get that far, it'll be an improvement!)
Take care, all.

xena

Hi Ann, we must have been typing at the same time so I didn't see your post before I wrote mine. Good luck at the dentist's office today. Sounds like you've really been through it.
Your going to the gym talk is inspiring. I'm expecting my walking tapes to arrive today or tomorrow so I'm getting excited! Enjoy.

Hello Ladies

Well I still have this headache. Really really unusual for me. I am kind of tired. I think my thyroid meds need to be tweaked. I see the specialist next week so we shall see. Maybe the headache is from chip withdrawal or Woodys Pink Grapefruit cooler withdrawal my poor body is in shock.

I had a great OP day yesterday and plan on doing the same this morning. I got up at 6 am and did my weights so I am happy to say that my exercise is all behind me already.

Traci wow you are happy today. Could you send some of that energy my way

xena what classes are you taking. I take my hat off to people who do school. I know I could not do it again. My girls head to school in 2 weeks. They are getting excited. I always find this time of year depressing with summer coming to an end. Hubby will close the pool soon  But I do like fall. I love Christmas it is the time from Jan to March that I find so brutal. Oh well.

Ann you are going to put the rest of us to shame. When you started exercising after your hyst how much weight did you have to lose? I have 20 to 25 pounds. Since I am also on a pretty intense workout program I am really looking forward to what I look like in shorts and a bathing suit next summer.

Em yippee on being so OP. That does feel nice doesn't it?!!!!!!!!!!!! Heres to another super OP day.

Take care ladies

Good Morning

OK, enough is enough!!!!!

I have been slowly sliding backward (upward in weight) most of the summer and I am ready to give up and start fresh!!! I have thinking a lot about school going back very soon and I am embarrassed to go back and have them all see that I haven't lost all summer and have actually gained a bit! I want desperatly to at least be able say that I am back OP and have started showing loses again.

I *will* be/stay OP!!

I *will* be/stay OP!!

I *will* be/stay OP!!

I *will* be/stay OP!!

I *will* be/stay OP!!

EM~~ Hope you have another wonderful day!! Chix Creole and Spaghetti sound yummy!!! I have to go for a few groceries today and fruit salad sounds so good, I will have to pick up some things and make some. Thanks for the idea!!

Traci~~ My, you sure are in a NEW mood....LOL!! I've been working on a NEW home and NEW job.....is that good enough??
I know you are disappointed by a low loss, but please remember it *is* a loss and *you* made it happen!! That is something to feel very proud of!!!

Ann~~ Best of Luck at the dentist!! I bet thats what had you up at 4:00am? I am sure that now that you are home and back with your reg. dentist that things will ge much better than your experience with the NY guy!!!

{{{BSQ}}}~~ Sending you lots of hugs and hopes for a great check-up today!!

Desk~~ I LOVE garlic bread too!!! Don't worry about it, it's over now and today is a great day to start fresh and I know you'll do just great!!

Tamara~~ You should try some fudge scicles for the choc. cravings, they are low fat/low cal and taste like you are cheating, but you're not!! Anyway it just might work? Sure hope you can get used to the machine so you can sleep better! I can't even imagine how awful it must be... I will surely be praying for you and Sheri both!!

Cath~~ Your lunch recipe sounds really good!! Hope the headache is gone real soon, I get lots of sinus headaches(allergies) and I know they are so annoying! Sure hope it's gone for you and is a very long time before you get anymore!!

Xena~~ We don't eat out very often, but when we do I usually will try to get grilled chicken without sauce or ask for it on the side. You can also ask for grilled chicken without the roll and cut it up yourself and add to a side salad...Yummmm!! You also can order water anywhere, Yep, even at fast food places!! Sometimes they will charge you a few cents for the cup, but still better than all that soda....well worth it!!

Sheri~~ Good For You making better choices at lunch....that's really great!! Don't worry about not exercising for now, you are doing really well by your food choices so that is a great improvement!!! the exercise will come with time. You can do some little things that all together will make a difference just by being more active. Try taking stairs when you can and park farther away on purpose than you normally would while shopping. I sure hope you are doing better real soon with the machine and can get some good quality sleep!!

Hi, to all of you that post after me and all of you that are reading and can't/don't post!!

Hope you all have the BESTEST OP Day Ever!!!!!

Take Care, Dawn

Just doing a quick check-in between coming home from the gym ( and I am sore, from Monday........my classes here are much tougher than in NY) and heading to the shower in a minute so I can get ready to go to the dentist.

Yes, Dawn.......you will stay OP!! You will stay OP!! You will stay OP!! And you're probably right that is more than likely why I was up so early........I will feel better after I have talked to my dentist today and know what I am facing in the near future with my teeth!

Cath.........sorry to hear you still have the headache. I used to get them really bad before my hyst. Please call your doc if it continues.......now the only time I get one is if I'm getting a sinus infection. I don't know how much weight I had to lose........I worked out for years before my surgery and was a size 10 (that is a good size/weight for me, any less than that I look anorexic or something) or a size 12. After my hyst I got up to a size 16 and 165 pounds, even with working out as much as I do.........I really wasn't eating well, was just eating anything I wanted. I was not happy with me. So about a year ago I started the low fat/high protein Susan Powter sorta kinda thing and since we don't have scales in the house I don't know what I weigh now, but I am back in my size 10's, the first thing anyone notices if I haven't seen them in a while is that I have lost weight, I have an appt for a complete physical next month and the first thing they will do is weigh me and I am anxious to see what my weight is and also my cholesterol #'s because the Premarin caused my cholesterol to go up but I couldn't handle the side effects of the two meds my doc tried me on before I went to NY and I didn't take any cholesterol meds over the summer. I am hoping my #'s have come down with my weight and maybe I won't need to try any more cholesterol meds!! I need a crossed fingers smilie here! I will tell you that I probably still weigh around 150 but nobody ever believes me........I look like I weigh less than that. The old muscle weighs more than fat thing. I hang around here at BEST because I do not want to get back to that size 16/165 pounds and you gals are my motivation to continue with my good eating habits and exercise as a maintenance thing. I like myself a whole lot better at a size 10 than I did as a size 16! Terrrible that we judge so much by size.

Traci.....I'm definitely going to do the new veg today. Will let you know what later. You sound very "up", your post made me smile!

Ann.....good luck with your dentists appt. Creole chicken is a spicy-type tomato sauce made with green pepper, curry or hot sauce added. I didn't make it. The deli made it with white meat. Usually it's served over rice but I used speghetti yesterday. It's a perfect thing for a crock pot.

Xena.....I'm a great Bleu Cheese lover. I printed out your post. Thanks!

Cath....good for you for getting your exercise out of the way. Sorry about your nagging headache. Hope it just goes away soon!

Dawn.....I know how you feel. This summer seemed to be one step forward, two steps back. I think for me it had a lot to do with the lack of formal exercise. The scale hasn't moved too much in either direction, but I feel like a blob.

{{{BSQ}}}....thinking about you and sending good thoughts your way.
