Hi everyone! I had a LAVH/BSO in Feb. started NHRT right away, Dr. never telling me it has a 20% chance of growing back. Well Endo is back growing in the colon area So, I'm being weened off & then stopping completely for awhile.

I'm 37yrs old & tired of feeling misarable! So in the mean time what is a good regimen to get me out of the MENOPAUSE RUT???

welcome

I had my endo return on HRT and have avoided NHRT because I was afraid that it too would stimulate endo growth.

I am one of the lucky ones. I have not had any major hot flashes. I get warm, but that is it. I take multivitamin, extra vitamin B Complex, 1500-2000 mg of calcium. My doctor told me that every woman should take 1200 mg of calcium and menopausal women should take 1500-2000. Every now and again I take extra vitamin E and C.

My only symptom was vaginal dryness. I now have a prescription for Vagifem. This is a low dose estrogen pill that is inserted vaginally. Worked great.

All is well with me now!

Did you try to balance your estrogen with progesterone? I can't take it but some women can. This is thought to block the endo receptors from receiving the estrogen. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

I went cold turkey when my endo came back. I was in severe pain and knew it was endo. I removed my Climara patch and *wah-lah* the pain went away!

endo back?

maybe you all can help me. I had my TAH-BSO in May. Doc put me on estrace. I have noticed that I was getting alot of lower back pain again and I stopped taking it, and the pain stopped. Could this be endo returning again? Could Estrace do that?

Please let me know what you think. After all that I have been through, I don't want to do anything to encourage the return of that Demon. I don't think I could take it.

Thanks!

same symptoms

I had the same lower back pain & sometimes during sex or after a bowl movement. My endo had spread to colon & abdomen, uterus was fused to lower colon, also severe andeno.

I started using NHRT which is plant based right after my surgery since I had a total hysterectomy @ 37yrs. old. on 2/28/02. Had hormones checked periodically estrogen & testerone levels were still high so dosed were lowered. Started to notice the pain again & new the damage was already done from the hormones.

So now , I'm here with you girls. I meeting with holistic women's health specialist in Sept. to get me through the menopause while I'm off hormones for awhile.

I have heard a theory that endo may produce estrogen. I have very few menopausal symptoms.

If I were you and had the pain coming back, I would contact my doctor and quit taking estrogen. The endo monster is brutal. I was in severe pain and was afraid to remove my hormone patch. I'm glad I did. LIfe is good now!

endo and no HRT

I went without estrogen for almost 3 months. Began estrace 3 weeks ago. WHAM! Endo pain returns. I am not crazy, I keep telling myself. If it hurts like endo, my opinion is that it IS endo. Bye Bye estrace. Hello Desert <again!>

Hopefully my pain will disappear as imalith's has. Imalith....how long did it take for your endo pain to go away? My pain actually kept me UP last night! Is relief is sight???

you are not crazy

Hi Lil hellion!

that sounds like me! I am back in the desert again too. I would rather be there than in surgery, even if it is only a lap. No thanks. Endo is just an awful disease. And I don' want it back. I prefer to deal with menopause symptoms.

(((((lil H.))))))

Hi, haven't seen you around lately. My pain actually diminished after one day and gradually decreased over a 2 week period. I feel so much better. Vitamin B, Calcium, lots of water and Vagifem for me.
