2 1/2 week post op appt - that's all

I had my 2 1/2 week post op appt today (TAH 8/5). It went fine. Apparently it is my only post op appointment. I am doing OK for the most part (on the right track although still sore etc.) so I guess it will work.

The problems I am still having (lots of bladder pain, slow bowels) should resolve over the next four weeks. My incision looks GREAT although it still smarts and is sore. I am up and about alot and the doctor thought I was about 2 weeks ahead of schedule. He was very pleased considering I had had so much trouble with the spinal headache/nausea for a week after surgery.

My only new "problem" is that the pelvic confirmed a suspicion I had ... that the achy/burning spot of pain that developed on my left side a few days ago was from my only remaining ovary. I am hoping that it is just sore from the surgery. The doc said only time will tell .... since I had been pregnant, nursing, or on continous BC pills for years it will be interesting to see how the remaining ovary does all on it's own. My right ovary was removed as it was causing severe pain - thought to be from pelvic congestion.

Anyway, that's all for me.

It sounds like overall you got a good progress report.

You are still very early in your recovery so make sure you are resting, drinking plenty of water, and taking those short walks.

Sounds like you are doing very well. but if you continue to have some discomfort in your abdomen, don't hesitate to call the Dr and schedule another appointment to have that checked!!

I would think he would want to check you again since you were still having some pain.

good luck!
