10 week post op and having sharp pains

I have done really well since my TAH on June 6. I went back to work after only 2 weeks. I had some mild pain and discomfort. In the last week or so I have had some very sharp pains around where my overies are, is this normal? I went back for a check up with my Dr and she said that the outside incision and the inside work all look really good. I still have my overies and was wondering if this was a sign that they are having some trouble. Should I be having those sharp stabbing pains in my side....thanks Debbie

I have those sharp stabbing pains too, but I had them before my surgery. I have pelvic congestion, so I'm thinking maybe that's the cause of my pain?????? I wish I had an answer. My pain can either be quick and stabbing or it can last for over an hour at a time and is very sharp and takes my breath away. My ovaries looked fine when I had my surgery, so I kept them, but the pain is still there! I'm very confused about this. Let me know if you find anything out about what you're experiencing. I'll be curious to see what other people say about this

Ladies

Don't ignore these pains. Consult your dr. At 7 months post I ended up in ER with exactly these pains (which I had been ignoring for around 3 months). I was checked from head to toe basically and the ER dr seems to think it is either endo or a cyst on my remaining ovary. I have had a CT scan done and I see the gyn again on the 11th Sept to find out the results of the scan.

If you have any concerns, always consult your doctor. Better to be safe.

Regards

I am also having the sharp pains on my left side.
At 6 weeks, I had the pain, and it lasted about 24 hours. My doctor said it could be ovulation. I had the same pain at 10 weeks, exactly 4 weeks later, and it lasted the same 24 hours. Well, last week I had the same pain (4 weeks later), but this time it lasted 4 DAYS! By the time the weekend was over, the pain was gone, so I didn't call the dr. The pain is constant, but gets much worse when I use the bathroom or have a full bladder. Also, sometimes I will just get a sharp stabbing pain.
It is always on my left side, just above and to the left of the incision.

I'm hoping I don't have this forever. I'd like to hear from other people who have had this.

10 week post op and having sharp pains

From my own experience, the pelvic congestion I had caused me a continuous burning pain and sometimes sharp stabbing pain around my right ovary. It was worse when I ovulated and right before and during the first couple days of my period. The pain was ALWAYS there - never any relief. I had that ovary removed and it made a huge difference.

When the pelvic congestion pain started it was on and off... for a while... then in AUg 1990 it just suddenly started hurting all the time.
