Could This be a Mini Period?

Hi sisters,

I am 5 weeks post op (SAH). Last night I noticed very light spotting, a light pinkish color. I have read many posts about this mini period and was wondering if that is what I have. ( I have one ovary and my cervix)

I noticed a few days ago that my breasts were larger than normal, I was kind of hoping that was a bonus gift from the surgery! I suppose it would be due to PMS, darn...

I am hoping that is all it is. I only saw it last night, but not yet this morning.

Question: How many days does it last and is this going to be a permanent thing each month? I do not mind, just don't want any surprises

Thanks!
Terri

Minis

Terry,

Take a look at your trusty calendar and see when your period was "due" to start after your surgery. You could potentially be experiencing stitches dissolving and not a mini period. Log this spotting on your calendar, be certain to mention it to your doctor at your 6 week check.

My minis are extremely regular, and are very light brownish spotting that typically last about 24 hours. Panty liner spotting. I have had two ovarian cysts since my hyst, and they have caused a little heavier bleeding that tapered off to spotting after a few hours, but the spotting continued for two days longer than usual.

I have absolutely no pain or cramping with my minis, but I do have PMS (sore breasts and cranky). PMS was worse the first few months post op, when my abdomen would get very tender.

The next few months will let you know if you're having minis, or whether this was just a normal event in the healing process.

Hang in there, let me know if I can be of any help.
