Going For More Surgery..am I Nuts?

Ok I gave in to the abdominal pain and all that went with it. Will have GB removed 9/26.
I am so nervous that I will now gain more probs.
The med for the ulcer wasn't helping. So the dr feels the GB may also help the back pain as well.

As I have posted in the past about a weird red face and not being able to find out why - that it seems related to gastro as when I take meds for that area I am BEET RED or when my pain and "plumbing" kicks in - I turn crimson.

All my neck back and leg pain and pelvic pain is located on the right - same as GB - I am praying having the GB out will help the rest of me.

PLEASE - ANY ADVICE?????????

Hi there, from what I understand removing a gall bladder can be done by scope now, so that should be an easier recovery then if they had to open you up for it, also reduce the chance of scarring/adhesions as well.

I'm a believer in "you know how much pain you're in and what you can and cannot tolerate" if you feel you are at the point where something has to be done and your doc is in agreement then I say go for it, everyone's pain tolerance is different and if you can't take it anymore I say go for it!! (JMHO of course)

I too get the beet red face and neck and it happens when my pain is real bad as well, no one can tell me what it's from either.

Best of luck with the gall bladder removal on the 26th we'll all be thinking of you 's!!!

Best wishes on your upcoming surgery. As Gidge said, only you know how much pain you're in and if the recommends the gb to come out, it probably should. I hope and that this surgery will fix you up.

((((LaurLaur))))) I wish you the best of luck with this upcoming surgery I know you're not looking forward to it. But, as Gidge and Kim say, only you know just how much pain you can endure. And, since your doctor recommends the surgery, it probably means that this is the right course of action for you.

Hang in there, sweetie. that this is the path that will lead to the Off-Ramp for you.

Hang in there, and I'll be thinking of ya on the 26th!

My sister recently had her gall bladder removed - she is a nurse (30 years old) and really did not want the surgery. I can't believe how many problems she had including pain prior to surgery. She had so many tests done I was worried she had cancer - her health was getting worse. She recovered very quickly and now feels wonderful. She is really happy she had the surgery - she forgot how good it felt to be pain free and healthy. I know you will feel better - it will be nothing like the hyst surgery -nothing!
Take care - lots of hugs to you - you will be well soon.
