New GYN in town

Our small town has a new GYN who has placed a big ad in our newspaper promoting his LAVH procedure.

Get this -- the ad says, "LAVH patients often return to work in a week or two."

I find that unbelievable and misleading! What do you Princesses think?

I say he must be a male dr and full of crap!!!!! I had a TVH and my dr originally said I could go back to work in 2 weeks. His Insurance lady (old bat that she was..........we had issues) even wrote 2 weeks on my disability papers. In the hospital after surgery which was a Tuesday, he told my mother and DH that I could go back the following Monday. My mother went off on him as only a Mom can. Then he said that he wouldn't rush me back to work. I went back at 5 weeks feeling pretty good but tired. I couldn't imagine going back in 1-2 weeks as I was suffering from severe insomnia at that point.

This dr sounds scary to me! I wish there was some way to make MEN feel our pain for just ONE DAY! I'll bet they would be singing a new song then! LOL

I wonder if the FDA could nail him/her for making false claims about a medical procedure? Hmmm...

p.s. I wouldn't assume it's a man. Some of the most uncaring and unsympathetic doctors I've had have been women.

I think I am really glad it wasn't my doctor! I had a LAVH and my doctor recomends an initial recovery period of at least 6 weeks.

The sad thing is that there could be some women who have the surgery and have complications because they resume activities too soon. Pray that not too many women answer the ad!
