just had TVT bladder suspension....

Good Morning!

I just had part one of my surgeries (hospital wouldn't give my gyno the extra hour to perform the hyst) on Thursday and I'm wondering if it's going to still be possible for her to do the hyst after such a proceedure. She knew of the tvt and wanted to do both at the same time, but couldn't. So.... I just would hate to have gone through all of this pain and aggrevation to find out it's not possible. My appointment with the gyno isn't until Sept. 18 and her secretary said she'll probably be booking for late Oct./early Nov. , this isn't too soon is it? Thanks for all of your support and advise in advanced!!

Hi Char,

Welcome Home!! I'm really sorry that you couldn't have both procedures done at the same time.

I don't have any experience with a TVT, so can't give you any advice, but did want to give you a couple of 's.

I hope someone will come along who has had them done separately and can give you some insight.

Please let us know what you find out when you see your surgeon.

(((Char)))

In my experience, I haven't run across this before---the two procedures being done separately. I'm so sorry you weren't able to have them done together and that you have to wait some more. Can you call your doctor's office and talk to her before your 9/18 appointment---just to ease your mind a bit? She would be the best one for information about how much time to wait between surgeries.

Please let us know what you find out!

Well, when I talked with her secretary to book the appointment, the sec was trying to find a date where I would be healed enough to go in to the office. Everyone I speak with is floored by the fact that they wouldn't perform both at the same time. I was speaking with a cancer nurse today (my neighbour) and she said that by the sounds of my misery from all of the pain that a hyst would probably be my best bet. I know that for myself now too, it's just a wee bit scaring that's all. We are going to see if she can perform it the week of Oct. 7 or after Nov. 10(My 30 th birthday). Since I have to wait so long anyways, may as well have a good party before doing so, eh?!! Thanks for the help!!
