hurts when I sit?
Ok this has been hurting pretty bad for about a month so I thought I would just go ahead and ask if anyone else is having it and what it might be....
It feels like it's on the left side of my vagina inside and it goes back as far as my rectum.....it's a pressurey bulgy sort of feeling and it is achy....it hurts when I"m sitting in particular or when I"m going to the bathroom (yes #1 or #2)
I do plan to mention it to the GS but I don't know if it's his "territory" or not.......thanks girls

hurts when I sit?
Okay, here comes some speculation. Do not be unduly alarmed. I am just throwing it out there as a possibility because it's better to consider it now than later.
Do you think it could be prolapse? The word "bulge" and the painful bowel movements and urination made me think of it. Might be a question for your GP as well. If there's prolapse in the picture, you'd want to know now so they can be aware of it going into this upcoming surgery. The last thing you want is to discover something like this AFTER recovering from surgery.
Again, I am speculating. I know you're a worrier just like me but don't let my imagination upset you.

hurts when I sit?
the thought had occured to me especially since my incontinince has reared it's ugly little head again, but was hoping it was something else......I did do a minor inspection myself (sorry for the graphics girls ) and couldn't feel anything odd but I suppose that doesn't mean anything....except it hurt on the left side when I inspected there.....if I was having sex I guess we'd know a little more by how that felt but I'm not so who knows?
I will ask my GP this week when I see him and also mention it to the GS......it totally is hurting right now as I'm sitting here....feels "sore" is the best description I could give along with the pressure thing but I feel that more when I'm "going".
thanks Denise

hurts when I sit?
 Gidge!
Sorry you have another thing to deal with. It is possible that it's a prolapse of some sort. Have you 'looked' yourself, does anything look different there? I'd get the GP to check it out because he should be able to tell if it's some kind of prolapse. But not necessarily if it vaginal wall prolapse-my urogyn spotted that one. That's my main problem I feel and things sure look a lot different. It did start with that sort of thing you're describing. But maybe it's some kind of cyst or something, I've had vag cysts before and no one ever enlightened me why they occurred. Hormonal I guess, just like the breast cysts. So there's a couple of 'suggestions' and I hope it's a cyst, not a prolapse. Better still I hope it's some kind of 'referred' pain. Your doc should be able to shed some light. Take care my friend

hurts when I sit?
Hi Gidge,
I have a bladder prolapse and that is the first thing that started to bother me...the prolonged sitting.
I know this sounds gross, but these are DESPERATE TIMES!!! LOL. When you examine yourself, bear-down really hard, and if you feel the bulge get bigger, this could be a prolapse. That is how I diagnosed myself, then told the gyn about it. I already had rectocele surgery, so figured this had to be probably vaginal or bladder. You can do it lying flat (sorry, I know this is gross). It is hard to tell where the bulge is coming from, but I would definintely let the doctor know. I asked to try Vagifem to help strenghthen the muscles and I think it is helping a lot, as I can't have surgery right now, hubby out of work and I'm the sole provider right now. With the uterus removed, this causes an empty space for these organs to fall into, especially if the tissue/muscles are already weak. I was in excruciating pain, but since the Vagifem it's much better.
Good luck.

I agree
Hi gidge,
I agree with the others here. Definitely ask about this before any surgery. I had pain after prolonged sitting when I had the rectocele problem. I also felt a bulge. It is better now since I had the surgery last year, but I am facing bladder problems and seeing a urologist tomorrow. My urogyn thinks the Burch procedure, which I had with my hyst two years ago, has failed. Incontinence is an awful thing to deal with too. I surely hope you get the right guidance and the healing you deserve.
Love, Light, Blessings

hurts when I sit?
Thanks girls, I'm hoping it's referred pain too like maybe adhesions stuck to my cuff again or something.....but it only hurts on the left side so who knows?
Am seeing the GP tomorrow after work and will ask him about it.....it's sort of like a dull ache that gets worse as the day goes on and sometimes it actually feels like something is poking me on that side......bizarre feeling!!
thanks for the input I'll let you know what he says....hopefully it's not his usual "well I really couldn't say" crap!!

I'd like a dollar for every time I've heard that! LOL!
Only way to tell is have a look and depending on how adept your GP is he should have some idea. I saw my GP's partner, he diagnosed urethracele and cystocele. The urogyn diagnosed rectocele and cystocele and the main problem..........vaginal vault prolapse which wasn't helping the others. He also thought the ovary was stuck again to vaginal cuff. He wasn't too impressed with the fact that I had severe spinal pain just before it all happened though, sorta scared him off doing anything about it for now...........!
I remember when I've had the cysts and it was very uncomfortable to sit, it was obvious there was something in one 'spot' in there. We're just too complicated Gidge that's the problem, but your surgeon should know about it before surgery.
Good luck and let us know what he says? A good look around should discover any cyst etc. but GP's aren't always the best for knowing what 'normal' vaginal anatomy is unless the problem is really really obvious. I vote for chocolate all round today..........what a week!

Not another problem?
Hey Gidge,
You are a basket case! Wow! Those little critters just can't seem to leave you alone. It sounds like one problem after another. Yes, do let your GP and GS know about this. I hate them to open me up just to fix the problem then close me up only to find out that the pain I have was never told to them and they just left the problem for next time. I would be fuming. I would make a clear note on the form that if they see anything unusual that will requite further surgery to deal with the problem now that they got me open. I won't be going back to the hospital again. Hopefully not for a long time. Well, maybe if I break my foot again then I will. Hang in there girl! Your day is coming, coming...

hurts when I sit?
when I described this to my GP yesterday afternoon he said "what side is it on" and I said my left side and he said "what side are those bowel adhesions on" and I said my left side and he said.....Aha, I bet what's happened is the adhesions have attached themselves to the cuff or the vaginal wall and are pulling on it.........totally makes sense now that he said it.....so I'm supposed to bring it up with the GS this afternoon, along with the not being able to stand up straight for the first half hour everyday and the same at night........
.....I'm hoping this is what it is instead of any sort of prolapse that's for sure!
