Having sexual problems after 3 months

I had a TVH/BHO on June 4. Most of the recovery went fairly well. I still have strange light pain on my 7.5 inch vertical incision. After I go the go ahead from my doctor for sex, things were normal the first one or two times. Now, I am very depressed and concerend. Our sex life was always very good for the last 25 years, now I have absolutely no desire and when we do have it, I get no reaction. I know this is very disturbing for my husband, and I am very depressed. I am not on any hormones, I only sleep a couple hours an evening. My Dr. does not want me to take any because my mom died of breast cancer. I would really appreciate any advice from any of you. I've called my Dr. and it seems that they don't handle things like this.

Waiting for any advice or similar situations.

Hi Nance!

I am sorry you are having such a difficult time. What do you mean when you say

If my doctor treated me like that I would find another doctor and get another opinion. The last thing you want is to have a doctor who will not work with you. Loss of sexual desire is a big deal and a good caring doctor would be concerned about it.

Take care.

Are sexual concerns due to lack of hormones

I posted a short time ago and wanted to clarify. It's been 3.5 months since surgery and no hormones. After the 7'th week, things were ok with sex and ok with flashes and depression. I have never felt really depressed nor had any concerns with sex life with hubby. Now, bam!! everything. Sleep very little at night, numerous flashes and geat concern with sex. It was ok after the surgery, now everything seems to have gone astray. I'm only taking normal vitamins and calcium. I'm not getting much help through Dr. Help.

Hi there

First, a big for you.

Trish had posted a few days ago about the possiblity of "arginmax". I think that is what she called it. It may help with desire.

Not to be blunt, but I have realized that I am stimulated differently following the hyst. I am four months post. It takes longer for me to get wet so I do use a lubricant. I find KY silk E works best for me. Also, I require more foreplay and climax differently as well. Not bad, just different. I think you really need to discuss your difficulty with a DR who can help you. I also read on my own search for libido issues that damania and ***** goat weed < I did not make up that name!> can help with desire.

Your sexual health is an important part of your life. Perhaps trying things on your own to see how you respond may be a good idea. I did that myself as I was nervous about intercourse for the first time. I know now what works for me and am still gently telling hubby that things are different now. I am much more sensitive so what used to feel good can now be painful. Hhe is working on this with me and things are really good. Remember to pamper yourself!!!

Hi again, Nancee-

I am still concerned about the problem with your doctor.

I think it would be a very good idea to find a doctor who will work with you. Your sexual health is very important.

Lil Hellion has given you some good ideas about having extra foreplay and using a lubricant.

Having sexual problems after 3 months

Hi Nancee

I understand what you are saying and how very frustrating and even frightening this can be.....I also had the same issues....And even though things are better they are very different.....I wnt through this numb stage, I could not feel anything at all.... And I had pain and bleeding as well..

I did have to have Granulation removed and the pain and bleeding stopped .....My DR just kept saying things will get better... And you need to find your self again....OK so where do I look ...

I also had a vertical incision and felt very tender for a time ...Did you tell the DR and have it checked just to be safe?????

I still have a tender spot and My DR told me all was ok......

There is a cream that helps , Ask the DR about cream... Mine said I can try it but it can couse hair to grow [face] and voice to change a bitSo I pass for now....

I am just happy that my DH really understands ...

I just keep reading all the info and watching berman& berman to see whats new.....

Hang in there.......Your not alone

Hi Nancee

You might also ask your doctor about using a vaginal estrogen cream. Very little is absorbed into your system, and it can make those tissues more sensitive to stimulation.

I agree with Sheri though, if your doc isn't taking your concerns seriously - you might want to consider finding a doctor who will work with you.
