BEST thing I've ever done!

Hello Ladies,

I just wanted to thank all of you on this board for your support before and after my surgery last year. (TAH on 9/5/02)

After always having HEAVY periods and cramps my whole life, and having to have surgery to remove a complex cyst, and one of my ovaries, I, along with information from my DR, family medical history, support from my family, and from this board, decided to remove "everything but the playground" ( a quote I got from this board !)

I feel this was the BEST decision (and one of the hardest) I've ever made in my life.

I am now 41, and taking 1.25 mg of premarin, and feel GREAT! EVERYTHING is back to normal, I was back to work after 6 weeks and feeling myself, not too long after that.

I've been away from these boards for awhile, but just wanted to again say THANK YOU, and let all of you know, that for me, this was the best thing I've ever done FOR ME!

As I look forward to our 2nd Disney Cruise in Nov, I am reminded of the one last July, that started this whole jouney. I awoke at 2 am, the morning we were leaving for the cruise, practially hemmoraging. With my period not expected for 2 1/2 weeks, I was not prepared! I think I purchased most of the Tampex on the ship, and was constantly running to the bathroom, when I had the gushing feeling. It was awful and could have ruined our vacation, but I wouldn't let it!

Thank you all again for your support!

Good luck & God Bless You ALL!

So nice to hear that things have turned out so well. It is especially encouraging to us awaiting to receive out crowns. It helps to know how life can be when this is all over. your story sounds like mine. Just about a year ago we were on a cruise and I almost had to be flown home due to sever cramping and un BELIEVABLE pains. Now it's a year later and soon I will be where you are... the good Lord willing. I wish you a beautifull holiday. I can hardly wait till the good days out number the bad days...i don't remember what its like to go thru 1 day without pains.
Bon Voyage!

Excellent news!

Good on you Shercara! Thankyou for letting the ladies in waiting know how you're going a year later - it's so good to hear some positive stories!

I can relate to the holiday story you had as I went to Monaco earlier this year and because of a problem with the medication I was taking to reduce my period I bled constantly the entire time I was over seas - dh tried not to be disappointed but I know he felt as badly as I did that we had a beautiful suite at l'Hermitage (behind the Paris Hotel near the Monte Carlo Casino) and couldn't use it to it's fullest potential

I can't wait until I don't have to bleed through another holiday...

Thanks again - I feel really confident now after reading everyone's stories and feel I'm making the best possible decision for my body - and I'm also prepared for any complications that may arise.

regards
Xaviera
