looking threw my records
Hi Jennifer,
I just did a search on www.askjeeves.com for the term hyperplasia and came up with this article in Web MD:
http://my.webmd.com/content/dmk/dmk_article_5963011
I hope it helps answer your questions.

a little bit o' sexism . . .
Jennifer,
I have been reading your posts and feel your frustration . . . take some boxing gloves with ya tomorrow!
Ever notice how the terminology for women's parts are somewhat derogatory? Like . . . dysfunctional uterus, ovarian failure, etc . . .
just a bug-a-boo with me, one of those thangs . . .

looking threw my records
Hi emcats,
I don't really think that the medical terms dysfunctional or failure are sexist. For example, my DH has "congestive heart failure."
I just went to WebMD and found, under men's health "erectile dysfunction" so I think that these are simply medical terms.

Hi Jennifer,
Uterine prolapse means that your uterus is beginning to drop. In my case, I had prolapses of the uterus, bowel and bladder. Here's a link to a site that may help:
http://pages.prodigy.com/prolapse.html/ I just tried to link to it, though, and the site is down, so if it doesn't come up, try again a little bit later on.
You can also so a search on our site (little purple button at top right of the page) for prolapse and there will be lots of threads discussing it.
