staples or sutures?

I will be three (3) weeks post op tomorrow and my surgeon used surgical glue with dissolving sutures inside due to me being allergic to the surgical staples (I found out the hard way after having back surgery in October of 2000 & had a reaction & infection to them). Since I knew of my allergy this is what she elected to use and the incision is almost completely healed. I had a TAH with a horizontal bikini cut. Best of luck to you & you will be in all our prayers..... See you on the post op side s

staples or sutures?

Some people are not given an option. I had internal sutures/glue. I came out of the OR with 8 steri strips and a bandaid. I must say this. Staples are easy and quick for the Dr. to do. I told the Dr. I wanted a good cosmetic look if possible.!v I wanted to wear my 2 piece bathing suit again. If I ever have surgery again I don't ever want staples.
