Great to be here
Hi ladies, I am so glad to meet you. Wow, what a great site. Am scheduled for my tah/bso 24 oct and have been pretty much looking forward to it. Thought I'd ditch the problem organs, pop a few hormones, and get on with the rest of my life. Since I didnt know anyone that had been through this surgery, I decided to go online. My education has just begun. Now I have a gazillion questions and concerns. I had no idea there is such a variety of hormones and I might need to experiment to find the right one. Found some answers in the jungle, but one thing i havent seen much about are physical changes. I know that taking/not taking hormones can affect us hugely emotionally, but what does taking/not taking different hormones do to us physically. Ok I'll stop there, just wanted to say hi to everyone, dont need to ask all the questions in one go. By the way, today is the first day of my last period and I have never had it so painless and light in my life. I think my body is trying to trick me out of the surgery. I believe I am even good enough to go out for dinner to celebrate.

Great to be here
Hi Sisde
I'm glad you found us and that this site has been helpful to you already. My second to last period was super light and lasted only three days (unheard of!!) and I remember thinking how my uterus was trying to get a stay of execution. It's funny how our bodies work sometimes.
I hope you went out to dinner and had that celebratory meal!
Take care, and lots of s

Sisde,
The cessation of the production of estrogen causes bone loss & can lead to osteoporosis. That is the biggest concern for me. Not sure what other physical effects there are. But, keep asking your questions & someone will come along who has some good info.
Welcome! Best wishes to you,
Mongie
