Control freak - outa control

I have my surgery next week and all I think about is how bad my house is going to get.
I like it clean and in order. With my hormones going wacky and my house a mess they may have to commit me. No family near and I don't think I want my friends to see it a mess. I would love to hire a cleaning lady but I am self employed so no extra money for that.
I told my 19 year old daughter that I would like her on bathroom duty(we have 2 full and 1 half) she laughed and said "Mom, you clean our bathrooms too much. They will be fine."
Oh man, I better have lots of drugs. I know they will do their best.
A bit scary though. I also have a 18 and 5 year old daughter.
Lotsa fun. Sometimes I get angry because I have to have a hyster and my orderly life is going to be a mess. I just hope that if I ignore things and concentrate on healing then I can worry about that later. Yeah, thats what I'll tell myself everyday and....ahhh who am I fooling.
Having a worry day.
Thanks for listening.

Hi Michelle

Sometimes we just have to close our eyes and let it see what we want not what is there. I have a DS and DH and of course needless to say I have a hard time getting them to put the toliet lid down. Just tell those daughters to clean up after them selves and the younger one and then ignore the rest. You will be so busy healing you probably won't even worry (NOT). Try your hardest to just ignore it. Healing is the your #1 thing to concentrate on. God Bless.

Hi I like a nice clean orderly house too , but much to my surprise - it didn't really bother me very much after my surgery. I hope that you'll be able to relax and take care of yourself. Your friends will understand & maybe even help (my friend vacumed for me when my dh "forgot" ).Your older kids should be able to help also , you may be surprised by them. What's important for you to do is rest and take good care of yourself so you can heal properly.

Cured it with a Housekeeper

HI,

Last year when my husband was diagnosed with Bone Marrow Cancer, he was in and out of the hospital for weeks at a time. The house went to pot and I decided to finally hire a housekeeper. It was the best thing I could have done. She comes every two weeks and I never have to worry about vacuuming, dusting, or bathrooms. When I was recovering from my surgery, she did a few extra things to help me (I paid her of course).

I still have her and will keep her as long as I can afford to. I would suggest to anyone who is fretting about the house, if you can afford it, hire someone to come in once or twice while you are recovering. Trust me, you will be glad you did.

BTW, my husband is doing well, cancer is in remission.

O.

Thank you,
It's so nice to have someone to talk to that really understands.
It's also nice to vent. People around get tired of hearing about "The surgery". I really appreciate everyone. My friends and family think I have it all together 'cause I don't really talk about it. I come here.
The tips and hints have been wonderful too, Thank you Hstersisters for being there for me.

Hi Michelle!!!

I am also a "michelle" and I am a clean freak about my house.

I too worry some about how things are going to get "clean enough". I have problems with the way other people load the dishwasher so I think I understand what you are going through.

I bet your daughter will come through for you in the end.

Feel free to PM or e-mail me if you'd like.
